2021-2022 SENATE MAJORITY LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCED
PIERRE – The newly-elected Senate Republican caucus met November 6, 2020, to determine legislative leadership for the 2021-2022 Legislative term.
The following members were elected to majority leadership positions in the Senate:
Majority Leader: Gary Cammack
Assistant Majority Leader: Mike Diedrich
Majority Whip: Jim Bolin
Majority Whip: Casey Crabtree
Majority Whip: Helene Duhamel
Majority Whip: Kyle Schoenfish
Lee Schoenbeck will be the GOP nominee for the position of President Pro Tempore, which will be voted on by the full Senate when it organizes on Tuesday,January 12, 2021.
Schoenfish? Wow! Great choice. Did not see that coming but kudos to the new Senate caucus for selecting him. Very reasonable and will make the institution great again.

The conservatives got wiped out. Too bad. Abandoning the right and attempting to appease the left wasn’t a winning strategy. Honesty and conservatism should not have been abandoned!

I think it is a big reach to call those elected to leadership the “left”. And honestly, labels like that are pretty worthless.

Certain Senators wanted the conservatives gone and so here we go.

I’m old enough to remember when Lee Schoenbeck was considered a “conservative.” What’s funny is none of his beliefs have changed!
The true conservatives who will advance conservative fundamentals are leading the Caucus.
Those who tilted at windmills and see monsters under their bed are going to see how to move good government do it.
Having Senator Mike Diedrich in a leadership position is an incredibly wise choice. He is one of the most ethical, honest, educated members ever elected to the legislature. He legislates by knowledge rather than emotion. A true gentleman!
