KELO Radio: Dems should be thanking the GOP.

KELO Radio is pointing out that State Democrats should be thanking the GOP for pointing out the error of their ways. Clearly they need the GOP’s help to operate as a functional political party:

The Democrats have to recertify statewide wide candidates’ nominations after a Republican challenge. However,  if the Republicans had said nothing, the Democrats might have missed the deadline with incomplete paperwork and that could have meant no candidates on the ballot.

and…

“We thought in the interest of transparency, that this is the best thing to do,” Roetman said.

and..

Roetman says this is a serious matter that should be taken care of properly.

“This is not something to be taken lightly,” Roetman said. “If the situation was reversed, we would be preparing to receive 600-odd very upset delegates at our new convention. We think they (Democrats) need to do this right and have a new convention.

Read it all here.

Maybe someday they might be able to be rehabbed into being a competent party organization.

  1. At rate their numbers are falling Independents will pass them in registration soon

    1. There are some pretty valid reasons. Still waiting for dem’s to say “Thank you.”

  2. Otherwise I’m not sure what anyone is celebrating other than Democrat incompetence.

    1. Billy “I have been a Pierre insider for 8 years but we need to get rid of insiders” Sutton

      Randy “Draq Queen Sponsor” Seiler

      prove otherwise

      1. while glib, your descriptions of both opponents aren’t accurate or helpful. sutton isn’t moping around and going through the motions like wismer, he’s working it. if he finds some way to equate himself with a rounds or mickelson in terms of his potential and attitudes, noem won’t have an easy time. and seiler was an effective big-picture law and order guy who will bring an excellent record into the campaign. pretending they’re already defeated at this point isn’t helpful. the latent hindsight affection still out there for daschle and johnson is real, and if you don’t work hard enough to remind people of the real chasm between democrat and republican ideals it will be ugly this fall. while we are at it, how about more pushback against the tea party crowd when they make the ignorant claim that there’s no difference between this state’s republicans and democrats? that’s just crazy talk.

        1. i never forget that we’d be in the same boat as democrats are now, if we sat back and let our own crazies lord over the leadership jobs. good normal people who populate the gop at all levels would stay out of the process too. we’d all be better served if a smart effective democrat party was actually trying to serve people, instead of playing the “progressive smell-test” at every turn and leaving the hard work to republicans. if i were sutton seiler and bjorkman i’d hide the “d” on my campaign posters too.

  3. I think the Republicans did the right thing as there might have been some backlash if no Democrats were on the ballot.

  4. I agree with enquirer that Bjorkman, Sutton and Seiler are our only real candidates. So let’s fix that at convention and remove our fake ones so those voters who can’t vote straight Republican don’t waste their one D vote on a place holder.
