Planned Parenthood staffer notes fundraiser at her house for “pro-life” Billie Sutton

This is interesting. Had a reader tip me off last night about this Bruce Danielson video from one of the recent Democrat Forums.

He found it very telling that a speaker at one of the forums, who identified herself as working for planned parenthood (32.27), spoke about having a fundraiser for Billie Sutton at her house (33.09).

As it was put to me, the reader didn’t think fundraisers held by planned parenthood staff went along with his Sutton’s claims of being “pro-life.”

What do you think? Does that put a bit of a dent in Sutton’s claims?

  1. His claims of pro-life reflect what the overall strategy of the dems seems to be this year. They are doing whatever is necessary to try and hide the fact that they are really democrats.

They will do anything to act like and sound like they’re republicans…Except act like one if they ever get elected!

  2. A lot of good Republicans are supporting and will be voting for Sutton. Good for them! Good for South Dakota!

    1. Fat chance….Sutton and Bjorkman are both trying to hide they are liberals whereas Seiler is embracing more and more liberal stuff…wonder if either strategy will work…I doubt it

    2. Yeah, cuz it’s time to put the car in reverse? Don’t be fooled. The current state of the SD Democratic party is a disgrace to Kneip and McGovern!

    3. You again! Try a new line. Sutton is going to lose no matter how often he wears a cowboy gay and pretends to be anything but left.

      1. Change is hard for some but needed. South Dakota is long overdue for positive change and Governor Sutton will be a good step forward.

    4. They only way a dem will get elected in South Dakota is to talk and act like a conservative while campaigning. If they really started their stance on hot button issues, they would never get elected.

  3. We should all be championing Planned Parenthood, and Sutton for supporting them. They provide affordable health care for women: cancer screenings, ultra sounds, information about adoption, prenatal programs and they provide counseling services for women after they had an abortion. They are an asset to women and their babies.

      1. Come on, Springer, I thought you’d do better than that. Everything I said in that post is lies.

  4. It’s about time the SDGOP joins the rest of society in 2017- Woman are granted the right to safe and accessible healthcare. No matter how you sensationalize it- Planned Parenthood provides many different types of healthcare other than abortions. They typically also cheaper than going to a hospital –

    1. Like you I’m not aware of other cheap health care options available for women. PP supports all women, they even show mercy to unborn girls. They provide a safe and healthy space for women who aren’t ready for the responsibility of a child. Ultra sounds are provided while baby’s limbs are torn from it’s body and while it’s skull is crushed. This is a D&E procedure and I’ve been told it is the safest for mother and baby. They don’t even show patients the aborted baby, it’s disposed of quickly. When patients have been cleaned up, PP can guide them through the process of #shoutyourabortion, that’s part of their counseling services.

Sutton needs to speak up about the services PP provides women, as you see I’ve only mentioned a few.

    2. … and they kill humans / destroy life..

Sorry it isn’t hip to support that..

  5. I met somebody who got accidentally pregnant while WORKING for PP. she was taking birth control pills but Wasn’t warned about antibiotic use. Since she had gotten the pills from PP, the pharmacist who filled her antibiotic prescription did not know she was taking the contraceptives, so he didn’t warn her either. This is the kind of thing that happens when you have too many health care providers and none of them know what the others are doing.
Women in particular are better off if they get their family planning from the same clinic that treats their colds and flu.

  6. the democrats are going to fool a lot of people around the country, pretending all sorts of conservative positions like they did in 2006, but here in south dakota the memory of the most recent dem office holders is pretty fresh yet. and the national memory of the ruinous pelosi reid congresses of 2007-2010 is hopefully as fresh.

  7. Pro-choice people are willing to fund a pro-life Democrat to see change in Pierre.

    1. People keep saying there would be “change” with Sutton, but no one is able to be specific. I can’t even find where Sutton gives these details.

Pro-choice people are willing to fund a pro-life Democrat because they know he’ll be pressured into signing abortion bills.

  8. “Pro-choice people are willing to fund a pro-life Democrat because they know he’ll be pressured into signing abortion bills.”

No! They respect his position. There are other things to focus on for the state. Go to a Sutton event and ask him questions directly. It’s one of the best ways to find out if that candidate matches up to your expectations or not.

    1. They respect his position, no they don’t. Has PP shown other pro-life candidates/legislators the same respect? Have they held fundraiser for other pro-life people. I’ll be at their fundraiser and maybe they’ll be able to give us these stats.

I have attended his events, have you? Doesn’t seem like it, you can’t be specific with what changes to expect. What I see is a white man who claims to be pro-life, refuses to support an income tax, supports parents having the final say in their children’s education, freedom of religion, 2A rights… what is different? Don’t be a fool, if elected, Sutton will fall under pressure.

      1. “I have attended his events, have you?” Yep! Visited with him privately on various stances.

“What I see is a white man who claims to be pro-life, refuses to support an income tax, supports parents having the final say in their children’s education, freedom of religion, 2A rights… what is different? Don’t be a fool, if elected, Sutton will fall under pressure.”

If that is the case then it looks like there is no candidate out there for you. Good luck!

        1. There is a woman running, did you miss that. She will make SD history and I’ll be voting for her along with my feminist friends.

You say you’ve met with Sutton, then why don’t you fill us in with all the “change” that’s supposedly coming with him. You can’t, because you lie. He can’t, because he has nothing new to bring to the table.

Did you find other pro-life candidates PP has supported and have held a fundraising event for?

            1. Lies. You hope nothing for me.

Answer the questions. You can’t. You have nothing, but lies.

              1. You contradict yourself which demonstrates either confusion or inability to grasp reality. You want a candidate that is for a state income tax. Did that woman you are voting for say she supported a state income tax?

This is a South Dakota blog. You must have the wrong state. Which state will you be voting in that has a female candidate that is for a state income tax?

                1. Never said I wanted a candidate who supports income tax. My focus is on the claims that Sutton is going to bring change. You say he will, but can’t show any proof of that, no one can.

You want to direct your focus back on me because you lie.

                  Answer the questions.

  9. I am hearing SD Right to Life has sent the Governor candidates surveys…we should see soon enough the results….

What bills has Sutton either supported or voted against?

A lot of my candidate is great yours suck in here and anonymously…Pick a handle at least people…easier to follow

  10. Deleting comments again because they call you out, Pat? Again: this article represents the sort of imbecilic logic that people use when they say that because white supremacists tend to vote conservative, the GOP is, therefore, white supremacist. But you’re just “asking questions,” right bub?

      1. It was funny the first time, get some new material. It’s like me telling you the nurse forgot to give you your meds again or people who continue to claim Sutton will bring change, but can’t be specific… boring.

I’m not Anonymous 4:29, you’re not very good at the games you try to play. You are the loser here.

        1. It isnt a game, you dolt. It is dumb to trash people on the basis of them having questionable supporters. This goes both ways.

  11. So, Sutton has had 8 years in the SD Legislature. How much of a difference has he made in Pierre? NONE Kristi Noem goes to DC and is one of 435 and accomplishes more than Billy Sutton can even DREAM of. In fact I can’t think of anything he’s noted for. He’s the Minority Leader of SIX PEOPLE. Really? He’s a nice 34 year old kid who really has no business running for governor. He’s never even gotten any legislation passed. He’s been very ineffective & is saying anything that he thinks people want to hear. Kristi has worked her tail off and actually accomplished much, has helped many people across South Dakota and actually has great plans in place for our state. This is not a popularity contest people, but a very serious role to play in our state. If you’re bored & just want to see things stirred up, please stay home in November. If you are informed about who is the most qualified to be governor & who is truly best for our state, then by all means please exercise your right to vote. Maybe if Billy can actually pass a few bills and prove he is capable of accomplishing something, he, along with many others who are as or more capable than he is, can come back and try again in a couple of decades.

  12. Billie Sutton was a major voice in passing the 1/2 cent sales tax increase to fund public education. This was a desperately needed change to bring our teacher salaries from 51st out of 50 states. SD is just short of a teacher shortage crisis. Public education funding has taken a huge hit at the federal level and it’s refreshing to see a candidate who has already started the fight for a better future for South Dakotans.
