Jackson County States Attorney Daniel Van Gorp Endorses Ravnsborg for Attorney General

KADOKA, SD: Jackson County States Attorney Daniel Van Gorp endorses Attorney General Candidate Jason Ravnsborg.

“Jason has all of the skills necessary to do the job from his extensive leadership experience and his tremendous experience as a skilled attorney,” Van Gorp said. “Jason puts together the two important aspects of being an Attorney General, by having skills beyond just being an attorney.”

“Jason is the candidate with ideas and solutions that will help our state and I believe that will assist me in my capacity as State’s Attorney and serving the people of Jackson County and our state,” Van Gorp stated. “I look forward to working with Jason as our next Attorney General, he has my full endorsement. I will be voting for him at the convention and I encourage everyone to do the same.”

  1. “tremendous experience as a skilled attorney”

Haha that’s rich. Ravnsborg is a politician with token prosecutor experience. Ever notice that neither he nor his supporters can give a straight answer when asked how many jury trials he’s done?

Both Fitz and Russell (and Seiler for that matter) have forgotten more about how to prosecute cases than Jason will ever know.

    1. It seems that a State’s Attorney who would actually know disagrees with you.

      1. Jason–what they are saying in the first comment is…hey you are kicking are behinds in EVERY category…we will continue to whine about something that does not matter at all…hoping you will react…don’t look back…keep looking forward you are running a tremendous campaign KEEP IT UP!

      2. It would be nice if the party could coalesce around a candidate. A majority don’t think Ravnsborg can win a general or is qualified. A majority doesnt think Russell can win a general and have concerns about his groups. The rest are Fitzgerald by default but no one is excited or enthused.

    2. pssst…you do know he is running for Attorney General, not States Attorney right?

    3. How much do you actually know about Jason’s legal experience? Nothing, most likely. Fitzgerald has been on the government payroll forever. He doesn’t know what the private sector is.

Jason is not a career politician; he is a oatriot, a hard worket, and he has Wasatch more experience handling a large group of people than Fitzie and Russel.

      Go, Jason!

  2. Jason is running this campaign right—working hard, not taking it for granted, endorsements from many sector not just one and east and west river support.

Keep it up…you have my support!

    1. If I was a delegate I’d feel cheated that this is this crop of candidates was planted in my field.

Someone forgot to spray the corn, soybeans and wheat for weeds.

Maybe in 4 years we will get a better harvest against Seiler (D).

  3. Isn’t this primary over yet with all the support that keeps going to Ravanbsorg?

Shouldn’t Fitzgerald and Russell just concede and drop out at this point?

You have no energy Fitzgerald and unethical Russell whom we recently found out was fired from a public position.

    1. I tend to agree. This race is going to Ravnsborg fast….

      Hard works should pay off.

Russell stay in the senate and help with the agenda, I am afraid you keep running for 2 races you could end up losing both.

Fitz you like doing trials and I just don’t see you as an effective administrator, stay where you are at and I am sure if you would want to do trials in other parts of the state you could be made a special prosecutor.

I think it is time to come together

        1. He is an attorney. Don’t you know anything? This is another pathetic, inept attempt to try to push one of the establishment, insider candidates.

          1. That brings up a good point…Fitz is a career politician, never having worked without the government paying him from everything I have ever read…tried and failed to run for AG before and circuit court judge and did not even win his home county then and

Lance Russell is running for multiple offices at once and they want to somehow claim Ravnsborg is the establishment…geez hard to keep up with these guys and their wild theories.

        2. Ravnsborg is an extremely hard worker and nice guy. I wish he was running for states attorney or a JAG officer like Seward. I just think that experience is vital. It would alleviate a lot of voters concerns.

The GOP candidates across the board leave a lot to be desired. Can any of them beat the Democrat? It’s a big question. These are weak candidates.

          1. and people who have worked with him have said he has experience….but the anonymous trolls on here don’t care what any endorser says they just have to keep saying it as their candidates are failing…BADLY

It is not how many cases you have done that matters…The Sheriffs think he can do the job, multiple states attorneys, lawyers and legislators do……no one else has as much support across ALL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

Your comments ring so true and make the most sense and is whats needed for the SD Republican Party. They all seem to have their own “niches” and come november the best possible solution for the party is exactly thats
        Jason as AG
        Lance as Senator
        Fitz as Special Prosecutor.

        1. Fitzgerald and Russell know the race is over, they should accept it and do what is best for the party and support Ravnsborg.

            1. There was a 4th…he withdrew…and I have to point out that by continuously anonymously stating that you don’t like the 3 candidates we have you are not swaying anyone except for the other 3 anonymous individuals who don’t understand this race either.

              1. Agreed, no one except the 3 Anonymous on here are asking for a 4th or 5th candidate.

As stated earlier by others, the majority of people feel we have our clear choice of Ravsnborg as the Republican candidate for AG.

  4. Is there is list of the endorsements so far? Russell has a mayor. Fitzgerald has some states attorneys. Ravnsborg has some states attorneys and most of the Sheriffs.

    1. Only Marty’s endorsement matters. The fact that he’s silent means they are all equally awesome or equally flawed.

  5. None are able to fill Marty Jackley’s shoes. He’s a size 23 grown man Shaq shoe. Everyone running is an 7, 8 or 9 youth.

It would be nice if we had someone running who was a size 15. That could grow into Jackley’s shoes.

Even if the toes didn’t go all the way to the end I think people would be happy. But we need feet that go half way. At least half way.
