The person from Aberdeen – Ol’ Scowly McScowlyface – had a fundraiser with 6 hosts back in July. Moving forward 60 days, it looks like he’s probably needs to take notes, because Team Dusty is coming to Aberdeen, and they don’t feel the need to hide where he’s having his reception. Plus, they have at least 6x the number of hosts.
The Dusty Johnson for Governor campaign has invites out today for their fundraiser on September 22 in Aberdeen at the Refuge Retreats Clubhouse in Aberdeen starting at 5 pm, with a number of well known names around the Aberdeen Community such as the Lamont Family, Kesslers, Jewett’s, Fouberg’s, and the list goes on.

Dumpsterfire Doeden for Governor campaign was all about secrecy so they would not be publicly embarrassed by another dismal turnout especially in Brown County where he is overwhelmingly unpopular.

Rick Beilke hasn’t been a commissioner since Jan 1, 2025. He had enough with the nuts in McPherson and didn’t run again. His son is married to Doedens daughter and I have a strong feeling his name is only on there to keep the family peace.
Rick Beilke was a heck of a commissioner. He has forgotten more about how to take care of county roads than most people will ever know. He stood up to the crazies in McPherson on the hand count deal and was excoriated for it. He served 16 years. His replacement is a hand picked dullard, and whipping boy for the crazies. Votes in complete lockstep with what they want. Sad.

Day County bounced Walter after one term on county commission. He’s a Minnesota guy
Doedite Walter is from McLeod County in Minnesota. It is a hotbed of far right fringe conspiracy nuts. Walter enthusiastically posted his support in the Chemtrail FB group that is for shooting down civilian and military aircraft.
Toby Doeden’s campaign is filled with mixed nuts roasted over a dumpster fire.
Carl Perry stated during a post legislative session wrap up interview on the Doeden Radio Network (Hub City Radio) that it was the Aberdeen Mayor & Doedite Travis Schaunaman and a former city council member that requested a bill to remove the mandate for fluoride to be added to public water systems. An overwhelming amount of testifiers were there to kill Perry’s anti-fluoridation of municipal water bill in committee where it quickly died.
But is the mayor, the actual mayor, by some counts a sensible businessman in Aberdeen even though he plies the questionable art of advertising, really a Doedenite? Surely Mr. Doeden has some dirt on the fellow, or slipped him a couple fitties for some campaign advertising trinkets. The mayor? of a major city in South Dakota? The mayor? We are not talking about Edgemont or Pringle or another fringe haven. This is Aberdeen, right? What is wrong with these people?
Mayor Schaunaman is currently serving his second term now in Aberdeen. I guess he must be something right because he ran unopposed in 2024.
He defeated the incumbent Democrat Mike Levsen to win his first term back in 2019 which should thrill some people on this blog at that time.
Unhealthy apathy among other reasons why there was no challenger. There used to be many candidates running for local government seats. The city has taken some serious hits since he took office. Pushing politically fringe public policy like getting rid of fluoridation in the municipal water service will drive more opportunities away.
The conspiracies around fluoridated water pushed by crackpots like RFKJr have been heavily debunked. Perry parroted those conspiracy talking points when pushing and later explaining why he pushed this bill.
