I renewed my driver’s license yesterday. The form we fill out now has a section for voter registration. I overheard the DPS associate ask a young woman if she wanted to fill that out, she mumbled something about eligibility, and I heard him say “we don’t have any way to verify eligibility here, so that’s okay.”
They just encourage registrations and don’t verify the registrant’s eligibility. Isn’t that grand?
Do the registrations that come in from the DPS get screened by the SOS? Or do they just go on the rolls? Is anybody paying attention to this?
