South Dakota US Sen. Mike Rounds was interviewed tonight on 60 Minutes with regards to Chinese intrusion into our national infrastructure such as airlines, water systems, financial institutions and more:
Mike Rounds thinks he knows why China is doing this.
The Republican senator of South Dakota is chair of the Armed Services Cybersecurity Subcommittee. He believes China intends to deter the U.S. from standing up in a fight by hacking our most sensitive industries
Sen. Mike Rounds: But all it takes is a blip on the financial markets to delay certain trades by just milliseconds, to put the market into an entirely different attitude about the security and the soundness of being able to make those transactions happen.
Scott Pelley: You’re talking about causing chaos on Wall Street.
Sen. Mike Rounds: Threatening to be able to cause chaos on Wall Street would be something that they would love to do.
Scott Pelley: And turning the lights on and off.
Sen. Mike Rounds: Most certainly.

If this makes you nervous, it should.

The anti-developement, anti-data center crowd won’t be satisfied until we are all speaking Chinese. They do not understand or comprehend the Chinese and the lengths the will go to disrupt our way of life. Dare I say some of these Senators and Representatives are actually treasonous.
Maybe we should go back to analog? Take that china.
What I find absolutely hilarious, is a large portion of the pro crypto currency/bitcoin contingent in South Dakota is also anti-data center. This only goes to prove how fricking dumb a large portion of the constituency in our State is.
My hope is that these data centers that deal with National Security are being developed on military bases without us knowing it or State Legislators being able to have any say in the matter because the ones who have been vocal about data centers have no understanding of them. China is leading the world in AI/Data Centers and are developing underwater data centers. To a fault and probably by design, our State Legislators don’t receive any type of National Security briefings on the capabilities of data centers. Could you imagine the ones who have been vocal about data centers (Taffy, Brandi, DJ) trying to wrap their minds around this topic? Think back to the minuteman missile sites. There is a reason they were dispersed and spread out, much like the Chinese data center schematic.
Ms. Taffy and Ms. Brandei are not meant for the deep thinking.
The orange man causes chaos in the stock market every time he opens his mouth. All of his buddies are making plenty of money playing those swings while they devalue the dollar.
Read Flash Boys by Michael Lewis for a little flavor of this topic, and time sensitive impacts in trading
Today is another TACO day! The Trump Nobel tantrum that lost over a trillion dollars in the stock market is slowly reversing.
During the previous administration, our top cybersecurity agencies and think tanks were issuing huge detailed reports on continuous foreign hacking against all segments of US private and public internet, with China being by far the biggest threat for more than two decades. The US is not serious about Cyber Security at the highest levels, especially when an idiot like Laura Loomer can get the brightest of the nation’s leadership terminated for “disloyalty.”
We deserve the increased tendency of other nations regarding the US as the newest banana republic, one with more nukes than all other countries combined. It can’t end well. Certainly Senator Rounds knows this most of all.
