The South Dakota congressional delegation, all Republicans, harshly opposed the White House threat.

“It’s disappointing that the president is going to fail his first big test as to whether or not he wants to work with Congress,” Sen. John Thune said. “He would be wise to remember the November election results and think twice before moving to block the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that clearly has public support.

With John Thune, Mike Rounds, and Kristi Noem letting the President definitively know where South Dakota stands is much more effective than the mixed messages we were putting out before.

  2. Typical spin. Thune – King of the Filibuster – talking about the president failing his first test for bipartisanship?

    I can’t see how anyone who’s been paying attention would buy into that hogwash.

    Get enough votes to override the veto instead of trying to win the race to get in front of the cameras.

    Better yet, get elected to the Presidency. Then you can expand your actions in the best interest of the American Oligarchy.

      1. How my observation spin? The Republicans in the Senate (that is where Thune serves in case you don’t know) did everything they could for six years to block anything Obama proposed – including some stuff they supported before Obama became President. Thune’s political boss McConnell (not his corporate bosses) said they had one political goal – to make Obama a one-term President.

        So to try my best to help you out here – Obama did try to act in a bi-partisan fashion over and over, but the failure was on Thune and Company, the Filibuster Kings.

        Now Obama is acting like a President who does not depend on any good will at all from the Republicans because that is what he was given for six years. He doesn’t have to worry about re-election. Calling him a dictator because he uses his Presidential powers exposes your disturbing lack of understanding of the political process here in America.

        May I suggest finding a sixth-grade civics text and going through it once more to familiarize yourself with the concept of Presidential powers. Perhaps you were out ill that day when the teacher covered it.

        A must apologize for the fact that I can explain it to you, but unfortunately I can’t understand it for you.

    Obama did not act in a bipartisan fashion because from 2009 -2011 he did not have to. Neither Thune nor his caucus could do anything about Obama ramrodding legislation through his lackeys in Congress. Obama’s chickens came home to roost in 2010 and 2014.

    Explaining & understanding history is an obligation for us all–try it before posting again OG. May I suggest checking Wikipedia for the dates in which Obama controlled both houses of Congress?

  5. Back to the original part of my post. The absurdity of Thune spewing out that the president is failing his first big test. That is a crock of bull excrement provided by the First Assistant to the Filibuster King himself.

    1. These comments from democrats who lack the ability to elect anyone are entertaining. All they can do is whine, why don’t you put your big boy pants on and figure out how to win elections?
