Dem sleeper race in the making? Democrats come in big for D3 House Candidate Erin Rudner with $46k in donations

Whoa! This one slipped under the radar.  While no one was looking, District 3 House Democrat Candidate Erin Rudner came in and ran the boards with fundraising, bringing in more than her Republican opponents combined.

In D3, Novstrup brought in $12k, after a $3700 loan to himself, and Schaefbauer raised $21,325 after giving herself a $10,000 loan.

But with income of over $46,000 (inc a $5k loan), it should get some notice that Rudner has some serious capital to work with in her District 3 State House race.  And for her, she doesn’t have to win. Just come in second place and knocking out whomever is the low hanging fruit.

It might be a tall order, but with the interest and energy (and cash dump) coming into that contest, they could turn that into a sleeper upset.

  1. I hope and pray that she can knock off one. 22 years of a wasted seat for Aberdeen in Pierre. There is potential to lose seats in NE SD. And I’d be fine with that…

  2. Trump and the far right Republicans are going to be the best thing that happened for the democrats. This Republican is looking forward to supporting moderate democrats over the Toby doeden plants and nazi sympathizers. SD will do just fine with a Republican majority and some good democrats in office for checks and balances. These clowns might finally bridge the middle to a 3rd party, and kick both fringes to the curb. Now, that would make America great again.

  3. Early voting so far are the following for Brown County as of Tuesday, Oct. 23rd.

    3282 votes (1701 Republicans), (1090 Democrats), (491 Others)
In District 3 also is 2525.
Question is what do you think this means for this race?

  4. The NAACP protested Toby Doeden and his NAZI Rally in Sioux Falls and now we may see our Native American neighbors and allies protest Aberdeen Chrysler Center, a boycott and Stellantis being contacted after a racist post on Dakota First Action PAC facebook page or as we call it SD-NAZI PAC,

Doeden prior to his congressional exploration run he had on his FB profile that he flunked out of school. Yeah! history must have been another class he flunked out of.

I hope they organize a protest and they will find many locals that will join them! We would love to carry the trademarked Dumpsterfire Doeden signs with crossed out swastika on them. Guess who’s Doeden supported political candidate signs will be in the photos and news nearby if there is a protest?

    1. As comments about protesting at Aberdeen Chrysler Center were posted they were quickly deleted with those facebook accounts blocked. Is that legal due to it being a political FB page? Doeden has a history of rules and laws are for everyone else but not for him.

      1. I believe it would only apply to elected officials or government pages because then it becomes a 1st amendment rights issue. They can’t remove posts but individuals, businesses, or pacs probably can.
