Dem’s past candidate for VP speaking at Dem dinner Saturday July 12; Here’s a blast from the past

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is speaking at the 2025 McGovern Day Dinner on Saturday July 12 (In case you had forgotten, or not noticed): Mobilize Pictures (2000 x 500 px).png

In case you needed one, here’s a blast from the past from Governor Walz about those pesky things they call laws in his Minnesota:

You know, supporting immigrant communities is all well and good. But the “keep law enforcement from enforcing federal laws..I will not back down on that commitment” isn’t exactly the thing you want from someone who is supposed to uphold the rule of law.

But, that’s the message that’s going to be preached to South Dakota Democrats.

  1. I am sorry, but this event probably should not be mocked. The Democrats are showing that they can bring in a speaker with regional ties and a national profile to their event that is selling tickets. Walz can be seen as someone who brings bi-partisan issues together (MN is split 50-50 in the legislature).

Now, the Harris campaign did not do that, but the best the state GOP is promote awful hard right candidates and raise no money…

    1. Oh, don’t worry. I’m sure the SDGOP will be mocked soon enough.

And I really whiffed the date on that. Must be thinking of the GOP Golf fundraiser on Saturday, which I would venture will be a debacle of it’s own.

  2. Because the President is a great example of following laws Pat?

Walz is about the only candidate that was honest, forthright and willing to call out Diaper Donnie and Muskrat. “Skipping around like a dipshit” (referring to the queen of ketamine) is a serious football coach takedown that only a guy like that is capable of.

He gives off serious “decent guy” vibes. A crime In today’s politics.

But I’ll let you get back to dealing with the craziness of the MAGA cult and what it’s done to state politics. Because Waltz is probably responsible for that…somehow.

  3. Republicans have proven they don’t care about enforcing laws either consider they’re cool with the pardons of the January 6 criminals. And the stolen confidential documents. And the sexual assaults. And…

      1. Get new material, you’re getting stale with the insults. Or try refuting the points above if your brain cell is up for it.
