This caught my attention earlier this AM.
Former South Dakota Republican Party Chairman Randy Frederick is noted as the Treasurer on a new federal Super PAC that was filed today, the “Dakota Conservative PAC”:
Dakota Conservative PAC by Pat Powers on Scribd
The Federal independent expenditure-only political committee does not have a lot of information out there about it just yet…. However, given Randy’s friendship with Senator Mike Rounds, and the fact that it’s a Federal PAC, it could possibly be a mechanism to support the Senator’s candidacy. (Or not. I’m just speculating.)
That being said, there is ALSO a Dakota Conservative PAC at the state level that’s ran by former State Senator Erin Tobin, which would not seem to have any association at this time with Randy’s Federal PAC of the same name. Erin’s PAC has been around since late 2023, predating this PAC by 18 months.
I think we’re starting to run out of names.
I think the name RINO PAC is still available.
Use it yourself.
Anyone want to bet he raises more than the current chairman?
A reminder to all may be in order. “Conservatives with Common Sense ™” is a pending trademark used for years by, you guessed it, the Conservatives with Common Sense operating out of Rapid City SD. Those trying to usurp that name, who do not attend the breakfastings *cough*MARTY*cough* may not use our name.
Grudz, how does one find out about Conservatives w Common Sense meetings? I’d like to join!
If you think Frederick is a RINO, then 95% (possibly more) of republicans in SD are RINOs. Have you heard of the story regarding a “boy who yelled wolf?” That is the epitome of the current use of RINO. It’s meaningless. Just like the people calling everyone else a RINO.
This was supposed to be a reply to Anonymous @ 5:27
Absolutely right. Randy Frederick is most certainly NOT a RINO.
Anybody that served with Randy Fredricks or paid attention to his voting record or public service, would absolutely know that he is and has always been a conservative Republican.
This “no true scotsman” back and forth between the traditional and nutbar republicans is getting so old. Rather than accept we have very real problems in the party, we try to associate those we disagree with democrats, absolving ourselves, and the GOP generally, of any accountability for how we contributed to this mess.
Party of personal responsibility is an absolute lie.
