This morning, Attorney General Marty Jackley’s office announced that a former State Employee had been charged with four counts of falsifying her own medical marijuana card while she was an employee of the South Dakota Department of Health.
Alexandra Feiner, 24, has been charged with one felony count of Forgery, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison; one felony count of Offering a False or Forged Instrument for Filing, Registering or Recording, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison; one felony count of Possession of a Forged Instrument, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison; and one misdemeanor count of Falsification of Public Records by a Public Officer or Employee, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in the county jail.
What it didn’t mention was that in 2021, Ms. Feiner was sworn in as the Student Body President for the University of South Dakota in 2021:
Student Government Association President Alexandra Fiener and Vice President Katie Brust were sworn in at the March 16 SGA meeting by former President Abuk Jiel.
Along with the new president and vice president, a new senate was also sworn in.
AND, last year, she was recognized as one of 30 professionals under 30 transforming public health in South Dakota by South Dakota State University:
Alexandra Feiner, B.S.
Program specialist at the Office of Medical Cannabis, South Dakota Department of Health“My focus is on ensuring patient safety and promoting education. I shepherd medical cannabis establishments through the application process. This program spiked my interest as it is an emerging industry and provides an opportunity to ensure safe access to cannabis for South Dakotans who need relief.”
Not guessing (alleged) forgery was part of that criteria.
Vermtown was always rumored to be full of tokers. grudznick’s close personal friend Lar won’t admit this, but I bet this young lady was just so tempted by the demon weed she did those bad things and got fired. Too bad Mr. Jackley didn’t catch her when she was in Vermtown.
Yes, forging documents is wrong and obviously punishment is deserved, but the fact you make zero distinction between forging documents in order to steal money or bring harm to others – like the countless political charlatans you carry water – and a young person forging documents to acquire a low grade and mostly safe pain reliever, says all most people should need to know about this gossip rag of a website. Of course the boomer readers and yourself probably undoubtedly see procuring pot not just as a moral weakness but a act far, far worse than cutting health care or dismantling public safety nets.
Med MJ is purely marketing, fake, a well known joke and served it’s purpose as a trojan horse for rec. It is simply legal cover for mostly back market MJ anyways. What is sad is the power and addiction this drug has over users that this person would destroy a their at a young age. Public trust broken, consequences follow.
destroy a career*
Public trust broken? Are you referring to her actions or medical marijuana generally? If the latter: the people of the state voted for it, so I’m not sure how implementing what the voters want breaks public trust.
Forged documents.
Someone got up on the wrong side of the van down by the river.
There IS zero distinction between using your position to forge a medical card or forging a vehicle title. Has nothing to do with the subject matter, despite you trying to make it so.
