Goof-truther Jessica Pollema attacks Minnehaha County Commission over following federal law, accuses them of “treason”

Goofy election truther Jessica Pollema attacked the Minnehaha County Commission yesterday, accusing them of treason because …Minnehaha County follows federal law?

Under current South Dakota law, voters filling on registration forms must have “maintained residence in South Dakota for at least 30 days prior to submitting the registration form.” That state law conflicts with the federal Voting Rights Act of 1970 where no person shall be denied the right to vote “because of durational residency requirement or absentee balloting.”

At the commission meeting, Minnehaha County resident Jessica Pollema said she believes the sanctity of elections in the state are at risk if they allow “thousands of unverified perjured voters” to commit fraud by voting. She accused the county commissioners of treason for allowing them to vote.

“I’m a little upset right now,” commission chair Dean Karsky said after public comment ended. “I’ve spent six years active duty in the Air Force. I’m being accused of treason. I’m being told I need to do something. Nobody tells me what I’m supposed to do, I don’t prosecute laws. I’m a county commissioner.”

I’m not sure what do you do with someone who makes up their own definition to words they read on facebook.

    1. That meeting was a SH!T show! The queen mobilizing her minions to go be similar AHoles to their own county commissioners across the state. The good guys bow out and these loonies are now commissioners. We’re on a bad path folks

    2. My question to Pollema:

If they are only voting once and in one place why does it matter?

Does she think someone needs a house or land in order to vote?

Many people retire and live in an RV. They travel the country. And they register in SD and vote once.

I would agree with her if she was saying they were voting in two locations and breaking a law.

People need to be able to vote. Are we going to deny people their right to vote because they live in a camper?

  1. Yeesh.

Now is the moment when sane Republicans can put their foot down and vote to stop this nonsense by not reelecting the dude that started all these people on their “fraud” journey (or delusions).

      1. Standing up to Putin and continuing to arm Ukraine won’t start WWIII. Caving in to Putins demands and appeasing him like a bitch will though. Tyrants never learn, their greed always drives them to their doom. Look at Hitler and Sadam. Putin is of the same cloth. If anything, we need to give Ukraine whatever they ask to end the war and force Putin out like Nicholas III.

  2. Vote yes on H and RL21 maybe this whole group will get fed up and move elsewhere and their kooky friends will quit moving into SD!!!

  3. I understand the temptation to support H. Should it pass, many good candidates (those with well organized, well funded campaigns) will thrive. Upstart & outsider campaigns will suffer, as H benefits established figures who possess strong name recognition. Passing H makes the state party less relevant. Many friends, who consider the traditional “two party system” poisoned beyond salvation, like a sick, gangrenous limb, will vote for H. If it succeeds, in a few years, more “independent” candidates will be viable. Caveat Emptor. It may require research to know who stands for what, but one can make a reasonable case that no party is better than a toxic, fractious party.

Now, some of us believe there’s a better solution. Instead of killing the party, save it. A growing, vital, healthy party — that recruits new talent, organizes cool events and conventions, educates voters and candidates, raises serious money, helps fund local campaigns, sends effective mailers, negotiates bulk discounts, and is beholden to core principles, not principals, would be FAR better than no party. In short, we’d rather treat & preserve our injured limb than amputate.
