Group fighting Sioux Falls opt-out turns in… half of signatures needed?

From the Argus Leader, a group fighting the Sioux Falls School District opt-out might need some remedial math after they turned in about half of the signatures needed to bring the action to a public vote:

District community relations coordinator DeeAnn Konrad said the group submitted 2,302 unverified signatures by the 5 p.m. deadline on July 17, well short of the required amount of 5,490 signatures, or of the group’s initial goal of 6,500 signatures.

and..

The leader of the petition effort, Misty Furness, didn’t immediately respond to the Argus Leader’s request for an interview at the time of publication.

Furness did speak with conservative political group Patriot Ripple Effect’s members in a meeting publicized in her opt-out Facebook group and on the conservative group’s Facebook page, but reporters from the Argus Leader and Sioux Falls Live were barred from attending this meeting.

Read that here in the Argus Leader.

You can also read this from the leader of the petition effort, Misty Furness:

You can see that here.

Maybe that’s one reason the group was challenged to get people to sign…

    1. They’re not MAGA, despite their trying to claim so.

They’re just as much in opposition to Trump’s actual policies as the Democrats.

  1. This geoengineering has been around for ages. “Cloud seeding” has been going on for a long time, and has very minimal effects. I’m not sure who pays for it. Regulating cloud seeding is one thing, but there isn’t this chemical trail system that the conspiracy references. The concept of a sulfur compound reflecting sunlight has also been discussed for a long time, but I’m not sure if it has been attempted.

Why do we have to be governed by the ignorant people’s fear? One day they are all like “we hate pedophiles”, then the next day they are all like “why are you talking about pedophiles?” I can’t keep up with this crap, they’ll probably be for “chemtrails” next week, just give it time for their leader to find a way to make money off it and they will embrace 100%.

    1. Useful idiots, always willing to run blindly with who they idolize this week. That’s why hansNO and Dooodo are dangerous. They’ve mobilize these idiots

  2. There is no such thing as gerrymandering. In South Dakota, we hold Re-Districting Commission meetings that allows the people to come forward, and we also do not simply draw lines through people properties, farms, we go around them, which causes some quirky lines. We dont draw perfect square boxes as the democrats want to do, and we dont care if you ar white or black, or native, we look specifically at keeping the populations equal while putting our farm in the middle of a city, or urban area if you choose not to be. The state is 90% rural, and 10% urban, but yet the democrats want to overshadow the rural parts, which only lead to direct democracy. Grow Up Democrats, we are never going to do it your way, cause we do not want 10 liberally, progressive cities runnnig the show. We are done allowing the Schoenbecks in our legislature, the people have spoken, Rural Matters!

    1. I will trust anyone that the people put in the legislature. I have no time for people like yourself who make insults, personal attacks, or troll people. I stated my opinion, and I am standing by it. Maybe you should learn how our government process works before you argue with me.
