Hot off my texts from party insiders – on ballot 2 at the Central Committee meeting, Ezra Hayes received 94 votes, and anti-pipeline activist Jim Eschenbaum received 103, making him the new chair of the SDGOP.
We’ll see how long this lasts. The job is a lot more than claiming you hate pipelines.
Next up will be a Vice-chair race between anti-pipeliner Sara Steever and Janet Jensen, infamous State Rep Phil Jensen’s wife.
(His first action as chair is to allow the Meade County chair to continue to running the elections. Way to take command, Mr. Chairman!)
😳
That puts the SDGOP on the high speed crazy train!
We are F’ed
These Anti pipeline Radicals keep getting people into positions they just aren’t qualified to do & they will all quit after the attempts to stop the pipeline fail…

in the meantime, they will alienate the Farm Bureau, the Corn Growers, the Ethanol Producers….
who is going to give them money? Who will even buy them coffee and cookies for their conventions?
Dumpster Fire PAC
So is a party supposed to behave a certain way in order to cater to Farm Bureau, Corn Growers, and Ethanol Producers? Where exactly do those organizations receive their funding from? I don’t think any of those groups should be able to hold the SDGOP hostage just because the SDGOP has suddenly shifted towards actually reflecting party values.
The SDGOP should always reflect the party platform. If Farm Bureau, Corn Growers, and Ethanol Producers don’t like the platform, it’s on them. It’s definitely not on the SDGOP.
Your post is akin to saying “Gee whiz guys, if the SDGOP doesn’t do whatever Farm Bureau, Corn Growers, and Ethanol Producers want them to do, they might not get coffee and cookies!” Every time I read it, it sounds more ludicrous.
If at any point, a party decides to waiver from the party platform just to ensure donations, they have reached the end of their usefulness. The SDGOP seems to have finally taken steps to rectify that.
Guy bragged about voting for Obama twice. Doesn’t this offend anybody?
Who voted for Obama twice? Eschenbaum?
Yep
Lee, what will it take to move the party where it needs to be? A Democrat winning the governor’s race? I really hope Donna let’s you come back and right the ship!
OMG. Can the RNC intervene???
since even some of Larry’s money was probably raised during his campaign for the US Senate, perhaps Pischke doesn’t have to worry about any of the Big 4 giving the state party any money raised in federal campaigns.
We need a deep dive podcast on all the details with this. Is it the pipelines, the chem-trails? What is going on?
