If you see the post below, and the article in the Argus Leader today…
Councilor Greg Neitzert, chair of the audit committee, touts Nelson’s experience in the city’s finance department scrutinizing budgets, her character and her institutional knowledge.
But some being asked to confirm Nelson’s nomination oppose the appointment, criticizing both the hiring process, her experience as both a manager and auditor and her ability to be independent in an oversight watchdog role.
… you might get the sense there’s a fight brewing between members of the Sioux Falls City Council.
The big bomb dropped in this fight was a robocall… which was a very unchristian-like attack on a proposed city hire dropped during the holy time of the Easter holiday weekend by Sioux Falls Councilwoman Theresa Stehly:
I can’t help but think that the time and place to discuss concerns about staff hirings is not in an automated political attack robocall over Easter weekend to the general public.
Sounds like the last part of the call got cut off. Was there a disclaimer at the end?
I believe it was paid for by Theresa.
This is the same clown that objected to President Trump getting police protection on his visit (God forbid!)? Wow!
This babe is a piece of work…All Sioux Falls needs to do is to elect a few more leftist and they will become a sanctuary city…Cheers!!!…
Theresa is a Republican
I’m not sure how this is unchristian-like. Your phone isn’t allowed to ring on a Christian holiday?
Theresa is a Christian.
Sounds like a conflict of interest to me….no experience being a manager or auditing and being married to the Sioux Falls Parking Manager. Welcome to Sioux Falls and South Dakota!
I think Stehly could have gone about making the public aware in a different way, however, I don’t know what the time frame was in the rest of the council knowing who the candidate was.
If only John Thune’s robocall bill would have an effect on these kinds of calls.
For Benz’s attention Theresa is a Republican coming out of the Kermit Staggers wing of the party. She believes that the process is horse pucky and is not afraid to bring it to the attention of the citizens. But I guess the stuffy Country Club Republicans don’t want people like her in their party.

Councilman Greg Neitzert and Councilwoman Theresa Stehly were in the studio to talk about the robocall that went out over the holiday weekend.
Also the hiring of Shana Nelson, the new internal audit manager. Greg Belfrege interview.
I also do not see the call as unChristian. She was trying to inform residents about the potential conflict of interest on this appointment. Theresa is not a cupbearer for this Mayor. “Iron sharpens iron”
