A man who had been charged with up to 30 counts of child abuse in 2013, only to later have the charges dismissed without prejudice, has put up a public facebook page announcing his intention to run for the office of Governor in South Dakota.
Currently unaffiliated with a party, Wendel Hiland notes on his facebook that he’s running as an independent.
On his page, 
Hiland also lays out his platform for office, noting:
My pledge as South Dakota Governor will be to the constitutional rights of the individual rather than the perceived privilege of government to abuse those rights. I will run on demanding Government accountability with an emphasis on the individual rights of its citizens. When a Government agency abuses those rights, they will be held accountable. I will fight to put parental rights back into the hands of parents. I will demand South Dakota remove all unconstitutional Check points and strive to rebuild the communities trust in government.
I will also live stream every moment possible in regards to my official duties as Governor and will demand transparency thru out our State Government. I will require other government agencies to also be live streamed so as to give WE THE PEOPLE a clear view as to the goings on in OUR State Government.
I will systematically abolish the “good ole boys” club and return control back to the “good ole people”.
To do this I need the support of the individuals that make up South Dakota.
Hiland also discusses other points of government such as martial law:
Regarding Marshal law.
Constitutionally Government does not have the right to suspend our God given, constitutionally affirmed rights.
Our rights are not given to us by Government and therefore Government has no authority over them. This being said, with our willingness over many years to allow the Government to overstep it constitutional boundaries, anything is possible. It is our duty as a free peoples to push back these tides of tyranny less we are swept away in bondage. This is our duty to those who have fallen and for future generations who’s freedoms now rest on our shoulders.
Hiland had been nominally active in the circle of people orbiting the Annette Bosworth case, appearing at a Sioux Falls rally.
The next election for Governor will be held in November of 2018.
Even though I question the judgment of those hanging out with Bosworth, Haber, Volesky & Hubbel The charges were dropped against Wendel Hiland. There is enough damage done to this man and his family with that cloud hanging over him. That is unfortunate.
Without prejudice means he’s not off the hook.
Do all these people have bad lawyers or why are these people making public spectacles of themselves?

Maybe Hiland can explain having sex with a 13 year old. Olivia Bui might be able to add some insight on Hiland. The Hiland’s also pled guilty to child abuse with DSS. A first lady with an 8th grade education may not be in South Dakota’s best interest. That is just the tip of the ice berg. The Rapid City Journal was irresponsible in their reporting. Wendel and Jessica are not victims, however the child they call Tim is as well as their other children. Do food stamps and back taxes ring a bell? I am sure you will set up another money grab, I mean fund to further your cause. It is time the whole story is told.
Our USA was founded by groups of people banding together to fight the British, unite in solidarity as a Union and come together as a Continental Congress to determine what was best for the group. Those who eschew our Federal Government in favor of what they call individualism, patriotism and independence are denying what it means to be an American. No one can make it alone in this USA and to overlook all that government does for each of us every day is merely selfishness. Where would a business be without police, a court system to decide disputes, a public school system open to rich and poor children alike, roads to get to your business, water and sewer systems and the list goes on and on. I suspect Lansing is one of the blog trolls whose paid by the Obama administration to spew their liberal garbage. As for Hiland, I feel he’s a good honest and innocent man. As for his case being dismissed without prejudice, that’s just the decision of one judge to allow the dishonest and unscrupulous prosecutors to save a little face.

Mr. Lansing, I believe you have it backwards. Individualism built the US and without our help & taxes dollars there is no government. Now look around you and tell me what would be there if a few of us individuals stopped paying taxes?
