Marty Jackley: I’m not running for Congress

Had a reader send me a note about a recent Mitchell Chamber Development Corporation forum where Attorney General Marty Jackley was present and explaining the ballot measures to about 60-70 people in attendance, when Marty was asked the question “Are you running for Governor or Congress?

Jackley’s reply? “I’m not running for Congress.”

I think it’s safe to assume that things are already “Game on” in the 2026 Gubernatorial race.

  1. Sad. He would be a great Congressman. He will have a hard time recovering from two unsuccessful attempts at Governor.

    1. If amendment H fails, Dusty would have a hard time recovering from his TRILLIONS in spending that he voted for. He really put all his eggs in the democrats bail him out in the primary basket.

      1. Never underestimate the fortitude of Mr. Rhoden, or the depth and breadth of the Rhoden Rhangers influence. If he comes out gut-punching, even Mr. Dusty is gonna feel some wind knocked out.

        1. The state of the SDGOP leaders today:
          The king, Thune
          The leader, Noem
          The runner, Dusty
          The elder, Rounds
          The quiet fighter, Jackley
          The person everybody likes, Rhoden
