  1. I imagine now that Mr. Reder is a resident of South Dakota, it’s too late for Mr. Jackley to prosecute him for the theft of what arguably is even more important than money…an honest election with candidates who are citizens of South Dakota.

    Shame. Shame.

    1. This is not good. What’s even worse is that there has been talk of this for a long time – from some credible people. The party must have known. If they did, why did they ignore it?

      1. Observator, your comment reveals a misunderstanding of what the party can do. The party does not control who runs for office. Legal challenges to a candidacy cost a lot money and are usually reserved for statewide offices. You have to prove a candidate isn’t qualified for the office he seeks.
The party has now elected a chairman and executive board which believes they don’t need money, or lawyers.

        1. More than likely the usual suspects in Brown County knew. Political activists some elected and some not. That small group of activists and elected officials give off a strong Cletus vibe up there.

        2. Mr. Jackley is patting hisownself on the back for “rooting out corruption and beating it with a stick,” as some of his staff probably say. Why did he turn a blind eye to this corruption? Perhaps because it was an East River Wingnut?

        3. I understand exactly what the party can or can not do. What I’m talking about here, however, is politics. Please don’t tell me you don’t understand the difference.

          1. if the party doesn’t have the money or lawyers to challenge a candidate or elected official, all they can do is make noise

            1. If they had made noise sooner instead of relying on a blogger to reveal the truth, maybe we wouldnt be in this position.
