Rep. Logan Manhart says people who object to his “White Boy Summer” Instagram post criticize white men for “existing.”

When State Representative Logan Manhart finds himself in a hole..  he really needs to stop positioning himself as the defender of white men.

If you recall my post from this last week, Rep. Manhart adorned in full “Toby Doeden for Governor” regalia posted to instagram declaring that it’s “white boy summer.”

Predictably, he has taken a number of hits on social media over it. And that instagram post has disappeared as if it never existed.

But, the Internet is forever and as he continues to rack up hit points, Logan felt the need to respond to the controversy. And proves the adage that when you find yourself in a hole at the bottom of a pit, it’s time to quit digging:

..the same legislators who are criticizing me have spent their unremarkable political careers chastising and criticizing white men at every turn, oftentimes for, simply, existing.

Jesus H.. STOP taking about the plight of the white man!

Seriously, Rep. Manhart needs to quit while he’s behind. Because he did no benefit for himself by continuing to portray himself as the defender of the white.

  1. Its both sides of the aisle that are calling his crap out…not just the left.

    What a dumb A$$

  2. I’m a white conservative man, I don’t need or want this embarrassment to defend me. As a real man, of any ethnicity, this behavior is unbecoming.

  3. Hi Logan, I’m a South Dakota registered Republican (you seem to have confusion in the state registration department, as well) and I wholeheartedly condemn your statements, antics, and this deplorable double down on your stupidity, that’s not party specific.

  4. I’ll keep saying it. He is too immature too inexperienced in life and too ignorant of how he representing himself to ever be a legislators that represents anything or anyone outside his tiny little bubble.

Do better next time District 1.

  5. Those that threw likes on his post are all white. Volunteer crash test dummy Dylan Jordan rushed to post and defend his seatmate and intellectual equal Logan Manhart. Travis Ismay, Drew Dennert, other chemtrail and conspiracy allies, other known Doedites along with the other extreme far right supporters. What next do they expect white only bathrooms, water fountains, their own carved out safe territory?

One can only imagine the bills that will be introduced next session.

  6. This association with Toby Doeden might cost him his governor race ha! Like he has chance and now we have to put up with his ads for a year. Hopefully he blows so much money we don’t have to hear from him again.

  7. Logan is now playing the victim blaming others for his own actions. Never was fit to serve in office. With what they have up in District 1 and 3 it is no wonder that area has taken some serious economic hits with economic and workforce development struggling. Toxic elected officials.

    1. Don’t forget District 23. Those idiots are anti everything also. One school is closing, let’s see where they stop.

  8. With no edits, here is the text from Rep. Manhart’s Instagram post: “It’s white boy summer and the boys are back in charge. #MAGA” His Facebook post is devoid of any attempt to explain what he purportedly meant with that quote. On its face, his plain language makes three unambiguous assertions:

    1. It is white boy summer.
    2. The boys are back in charge.
    3. Make America Great Again.

Contrary to Rep. Manhart and his defenders, his statements leave little to no room for inoffensive interpretations. At the very least, grammatically speaking, one must insert “white” before “boys” in the second statement: “The [white] boys are back in charge.”

Based on a Google search, I suppose it is possible that Rep. Manhart was invoking the song “White Boy Summer,” by Chet Hanks (Tom Hanks’s son); however, having reviewed Mr. Hanks’s lyrics, I suspect the song would send Rep. Manhart into apoplexy.

    1. Rep. Manhart’s Instagram post is a glaring reminder of how dangerously divisive rhetoric can seep into our political discourse. The plain language of his statements is loaded with implications that cannot be ignored:

      1. “It’s white boy summer” signals a troubling exclusivity and implicit superiority, cloaked in the guise of celebration.
      2. “The boys are back in charge” suggests a return to power dynamics rooted in privilege and oppression, signaling a dismissive attitude toward progress and equality.
      3. “Make America Great Again” recalls a slogan steeped in nostalgia for a white supremacy.

Defending these statements as innocuous is an insult to our collective intelligence. Any attempt to reframe this rhetoric as benign ignores its inherent call to reaffirm traditional power structures that marginalize communities of color. While invoking a song may be an easy out, it pales in significance to the broader implications of perpetuating a narrative that elevates one group over others

  9. This guy lives in a 1950 world. Three quarters of a century went by without him noticing.

  10. The comment section is revealing all kinds of past posts by Fascist Logan Manhart

Brandei Schaefbauer and Aaron Aylward threw a love on Logan’s post.

Kadyn Wittman maybe you need to scold troublemaker Pat Powers.

Dylan Jordan “Why don’t white people get to have their own country” – Logan Manhart, March 2025

Dylan Jordan if you know him so well maybe you can help us understand his comments? Please, spell it out for all of us so we can clear up this misunderstanding.
1)“Isn’t it weird how the same people group can be traced back to every societal problem?”
2)”Why don’t white peoples get to have their own country?”
    3) “It’s white boy summer and the boys are back in charge”

Ashley Schafer where are the minority comments on here. They’re probably laughing their heads off. You folks are acting like Karens.

Another national embarrassment coming from NE South Dakota in particular Aberdeen who are competing to be the worst elected officials in the state.

  11. Let’s be clear: this is the same group that welcomed Mark Robinson from North Carolina, a figure notorious for his extremist views and racial bigotry. Is it really surprising that such hateful rhetoric is emerging from this organization? They have stripped away any pretense of hiding their prejudices, and now they seem intent on portraying themselves as the victims. We must remain vigilant and hold them accountable for their actions and ideologies.
