  1. What Reservation folks will be tuned in to the discontinued PBS stations? Seems like a weak justification for lauding the Big Deficit Bill. Rounds, Johnny, and Howdy Doody Dusty will all get bit in the ass when the chickens come home to roost.

Michael Bloomberg said politicians have three goals: “reelection, reelection, and reelection.”

  2. Only after Trump posted the following:

“It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together. Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

  3. PBS and NPR claim they are responsible for warning reservation residents of emergencies and all that.
Two questions come to mind, the first being, why don’t the tribes have their own radio or TV stations? Doesn’t anybody have a basement or garage to operate out of? Wayne’s World comes to mind. How much would it cost to fund public-access broadcasting on the reservations?
How racist is it to claim only white people can do that?
The second question is, if public broadcasting is doing such a bang-up job of keeping reservation residents informed of weather threats, why is winter always a surprise? It’s an annual news story: nobody on the reservations knew winter was going to happen again, and they ran out of propane and firewood. Why didn’t NPR tell them winter was coming? Why didn’t PBS tell them to check their propane tanks or start stacking firewood during the summer? I have always wondered why we get annual news stories telling us how people on the reservations were unprepared for winter and somebody should do something. If the reservations had their own broadcasting stations, they would do a better job. They don’t need their Great White Father and Mother to do this for them.

  4. when I was in college OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO, the campus had its own radio station.

Why don’t the reservations???? Why are they so dependent on NPR??
