From the Argus Leader:
Christine Erickson, Sioux Falls.
I cannot think of anyone else who could better represent students, educators and taxpayers on the Sioux Falls School Board than Cynthia Mickelson. She has a big heart, valuable experience and most important, a great passion for education.
and…
Please vote for Cynthia Mickelson for Sioux Falls School Board on June 6.
I think she overplays her hand a lot. She is tied tightly to the Thune/Mickelson group in SF.
Who is running against this Ms. Mickelson and who is endorsing that person?
“Thune/Mickelson group?” Is that a part of the “swamp?”
EC, you have made it clear successful & committed women trigger you.
Nice try. If you read my past blog comments you will notice that I have always thought that Erickson was the front runner for mayor. That doesn’t sound like one who is triggered by “successful & committed women.” I merely recognize talent on either side of aisle, when its warranted.
I realize the right is trying to seize and take the high ground on any possible misogyny issue with female candidates, especially with the current Sioux Falls School Board race, but such an attempt is merely a facade from politicos who often dismiss women and treat them as second class citizens, however. Most of us know better than to fall for that ploy from some on the right.
Plus, a comment about the “Thune/Mickelson group” involves men and women, doesn’t it? Unless there’s something new I don’t know about ..?…. 😉
I would say Theresa Stehly would be the front runner for Mayor. She has the people’s back.
Stehly definitely has a following, but it was Ericksons to lose.
I don’t agree with that. Jamison wanted to run. They have many of the same supporters. Plus I don’t know that Erickson has the experience of a Jamison or an entemin.
EC: Right, OK?! I have read your past blog comments, here and at SDaCola. Again, you have made it clear accomplished women, for whatever reason, upset you. Sad, just sad. You “recognize talent…when it’s warranted,” by whose standards…Dems? You are the ones who treat women like second-class citizens. Though I do agree with you on one thing, sometimes you just don’t know.
EC,
What do you mean treat women as second class citizens? That is one of those red herrings Dems like to promote since Trump carried white women even though a white women was running. 🙂
Who said white women? Isn’t always the Right that says we need to end identity politics?
It is amazing how a little fun and snarky comment by me turned into a discussion about misogyny and now specifically white women. Such a tangent argument or arguments truly tells you a lot about a given playbook of desperation. And I cannot help, but notice, that the Mickelson camp in recent days has been trying to play the misogyny car whenever possible and no matter how disparate or irrelevant to the germane issue at hand it is. But I guess that is what happens, when a race that should have been easy to win is now in jeopardy because a given candidate wants to hijack education in the Sioux Falls area for the mere interests of the anti-wage, anti-benefit, and anti worker in general “work force development” crowd….
KM,
EC is not SDacola.
EC,
I called you on it and you changed the subject. Nice try.
Troy, I do notice that ‘Emoluments Clause’ comments on DWC blog and on the SDacola blog.
