So, does Bacon really equal cancer?

From Newser:

The World Health Organization delivered bad news to bacon lovers Monday morning, declaring that the breakfast staple causes cancer. In fact, the report by a WHO research arm found that all processed meats, including sausages, ham, and hot dogs, are carcinogens, reports the Guardian. Specifically, the report says that 50 grams a day—about two slices of bacon—raises the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%, reports the BBC.

I’m thinking it’s just a bunch of liberal silliness from people with an agenda of removing red meat from our diets.  But that’s just me.

Your thoughts?

  1. I’m pretty sure the liberals want you to eat more bacon. Go ahead! Stuff yourselves! Go fatties, go!

    1. From the permanent grimaces on the faces of the old white Democrats occupying the debate stage last week, I’d say that they all had colorectal issues.

Diagnosis: they are all full of sh!$.

  2. Whether it is, or not, it’s well worth the risk.

Eventually, I’ll die whether I eat bacon or not but I’ll enjoy my life more if I do.

    1. They know it’ll take more than Climate Change to pry the bacon from our breakfast plates. “CAUSE” is a pretty direct charge, previously I thought the strongest term anyone would use about anything like that was “risk factor.” “Cause” is what you call Red Dye 7 and other questionable additives and chemicals given to lab rats in a thousand times the normal dose.

  3. Coffee is good, coffee is bad. Chocolate is good, chocolate is bad. Red meat is now bad, especially bacon. Guess I’ll give this the same consideration as the other scares have generated – none! I love bacon!! I believe it is the same loonies promoting this that said that cow farts were polluting the planet so cows had to regulated, gone, or whatever.

  4. Everything in moderation! Today’s menu includes a nice bacon and eggs breakfast, lunch includes a BLT with the remaining fresh tomatoes from the garden, a savory afternoon snack of chocolate covered bacon slices and dinner with a nice South Dakota beef burger grilled on my Weber charcoal grill with a topping of bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bacon in today’s menu was provided by John Morrell. 🙂

  5. You guys are a bunch of cellular scientists, so I’m going out to get another three-pound bag of bacon, plus some hot dogs and bologna.

Thank you for your in-depth, professional analysis of this issue.

I encourage you to continue eating a lot of bacon and other processed meats.
