WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) this week discussed Republicans’ pro-growth policies, including tax reform, which have helped result in the lowest unemployment rate in five decades, wages growing at the fastest rate in a decade, and economic growth above three percent.

  1. Senator Thune, I am proud that the policies of our President have at least in part been followed by the Republican party. I have a hard time believing if anyone other than Trump was in the White House the Republicans would have been enacting the things that Trump has done. I also do not believe any other Republican President would have had the temerity to undo the harm done by President Obama. Thank you, Senator Thune, for at least doing what our President has asked.

  2. I would also like to thank John for borrowing a couple trillion to light a fire under the economy. Wish my cut would have been as much as some of his richer pals, but that’s just the way it is. Maybe some of it will trickle down to me eventually.

Haha… many of you republicans are uber stupid.

    1. Wow! So much disinformation coming from someone who claims the “truth”. According to a tax plan calculator by Maxim Lott, if you are married with two kids, itemized and made $75000, your tax cut was over $3000. If you made $150,000, your tax cut was over $7000. If you made $850,000, your tax cut was over $29,000.
The last year available for statistics that I can find is 2016. In that year, the top 1% of taxpayers paid over 37% of the income taxes collected. The tops 10% paid almost 70% of the income taxes collected. The top 50% paid almost 97% of the income taxes collected. So, if you are in the bottom 50% of taxpayers, you did not pay in much and so your tax cut would not be much. BTW, I would not wait for it to trickle to you. Go out and find a job that pays more. If you need an education to do that, get it. Quit complaining because you don’t earn enough to get a larger tax cut. It is called a tax cut for a reason. Those who pay the taxes get the cut. Those who pay the most will get a bigger tax cut, even though they get a smaller percentage of a cut.
