WASHINGTON — U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) today delivered the following remarks on the Senate floor
There is no way. Mr. Thune, that you actually believe that. And if you do, God help us all.
What planet are we on that we think this 100 days was good? Thune is absolutely feckless.
Wake Up, Senator! Your Priorities Are In The Wrong Place!
It’s beyond frustrating to watch you wave the Trump flag while our country crumbles! The reality is people are losing thousands in retirement savings, and prices are skyrocketing! The government isn’t fulfilling its constitutional duty because of devastating budget cuts!
The President’s continuous executive actions are trampling on congressional authority and sidestepping the will of the people!
Enough with the empty rhetoric and lipstick on a pig! We demand real, concrete action that addresses the dire needs of everyday Americans. Stand up for your constituents or step aside!
the Dow went up 300 points today
And it’s still down more than any President’s first 100 since Gerald Ford. Context matters, right?
my retirement funds are fine
Cool story, bro. Seems the economy disagrees with your rosy outlook.
if your retirement funds are being properly managed, the risk is spread out and your account is insulated from market fluctuations.
if your account is crashing, you’re doing it wrong
Even if you have index funds, you are getting smashed. There’s a reasom there was a run on bonds. Keep sticking your head in the sand though. If you just pretend the economy is great, it must be so!
Mwuah, mwuah, mwuah, Mwuaaaah!
OH MY!! The libbies are on a rant today! The US isn’t crumbling, and the world is not coming to an end. The only thing(s) that are crumbling and coming to an end is the libbie fantasy world of unicorns and anybody can be anything they want to be subject to their whim.
Translation: “Everything’s fiiiiine. Everything’s fiiiiiine.
those of us with diversified portfolios are fine.
And there are plenty of jobs. So what’s the problem?
The economy shrank half a percentage point and the stock market is in the toilet. But hey, your anecdote proves it’s not true, right? Herp derp, herp derp.
it means you need diversification in your portfolio
You shouldn’t be totally invested in stocks, you should have some real estate and tangibles, too.
You mean the real estate market that has stagnated because of high interest rates that can’t be dropped due to the inflationary pressure of tariffs? Gee, why didn’t I think of that?
Herp derp, herp derp.

What is that? The mating call of a libturd?
You make a great point. I wasn’t damaged too much because I heeded all the economists and CEOs when they told us exactly what would happen. I pulled everything that could be damaged and moved it into gold. But as you know, most people aren’t as smart as you or as lucky as me. I talked to a very concerned guy yesterday who has been doing without his entire life so he could fund a better retirement for himself and leave something behind for his kids. He’s done well by just staying in and riding out the cycles. But now his retirement fund is missing $118,000. Evaporated. And this is just a regular guy. With a regular job. Who’s done without many luxuries for decades. I can see why he had tears in his eyes when he told me his story. He wishes now that he would have listened to all those economists and CEOs instead of who he listened to.
Negative GDP!
Promises made. Promises kept!
