From opensecrets.org:
A trade group representing chemical companies will spend more than $150,000 on advertising during July in support of four Republican senators and one Democrat, all of whom face reelection in 2020.
The American Chemistry Council, which represents nearly 200 companies including DuPont, Chevron Phillips and ExxonMobil, is running TV and radio ads in Alaska, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana and South Dakota between July 8 and 21, according to Federal Communications Commission records accessed via OpenSecrets’ political ad database. Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) all face reelection next year.
Booooooooo!!! Out of state corporate interests buying SD political figures is EXACTLY the kind of thing principled South Dakotans will not stand for. Rounds needs to turn down every penny.
According to the the senator isn’t receiving the money directly, so there is nothing to turn down.
“The ads that mention Cassidy, Daines and Rounds praise the three senators for tax cuts. Sullivan receives recognition for ocean cleanup, while Coons is applauded for his sustainability efforts. All of the ads end by encouraging viewers to call their senators and thank them.”
Praising Senator Rounds for tax cuts doesn’t sound like a bad thing to me.
I was wondering what on earth there was to praise Coons for; as far as I’ve seen the only good thing he does is produce CO2 for plants when he breathes.
The fact that they are supporting ANY incumbent Democrat in this political climate shows me their ads and their group aren’t worth listening to. Other than possibly Joe Manchin (D-WV) , no Dem in Congress has shown any support for business, prosperity, and the American dream.
