WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) made the following statement after taking the oath of office as South Dakota’s 27th Senator:
“It’s an incredible privilege to continue serving the people of South Dakota, and I’m humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me to represent you in the United States Senate. Now that the pomp and circumstance is over, I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I look forward to working closely with Sen. Thune and Rep. Noem to advance South Dakota priorities and values.”
Pomp and Circumstance? I suspect Edward Elgar would strongly disagree. I read in the Argus Leader that a large contingent of Rounds’ family made the trip to DC. Did the taxpayers foot the bill for that?
Taxpayers don’t even pay for the Senator or his wife to travel there for the ceremony.
Are you sure about that? Have proof?
I asked one of the brothers that didn’t go. he said he just couldn’t afford the trip. Their was NO taxpayer money for the family.. I get it that you don’t like Mike but at least get your facts right.
I get that you like Marion but I didn’t state any facts. I asked a question. You need to get your facts right. And use the correct ‘there’ when appropriate. ‘Their’ is a possesive case of ‘they’ and is typically used in a sentence in front of a noun.
Congratulations Senator. Make us proud.
Mike rounds represents millionaires and oil tycoons not working class south Dakotans.
Amen brother. Sure wish Steph would have ran.
Rounds is exactly what we didn’t need more of in DC.
If Dr. Bos was there instead can you imagine the media frenzy? People would even be blogging more about it. And her fellow, Mr. Haber, he would be just a giggling insaner than most and drinking those DC fancy drinks.
Did he have a plane to fly.
Did Joop go to.
SIX years I get a great pension.
