I think they’re assuming it has integrity in the first place. Citizens for Liberty skips the part about giving chairman’s wife highest score.

The Rapid City Journal received a press release from the Citizens for Liberty group over it’s cherry-picked scorecard that we mocked yesterday for having a participation score lower than most of the people they’ve score.

And the Journal quickly pulled the wings off of the scorecard for other reasons:

Two of the state’s 105 legislators received scores of 100 percent. They are Sen. Stace Nelson, R-Fulton, and Rep. Julie Frye-Mueller, R-Rapid City.

Frye-Mueller is married to the president of Citizens for Liberty, Mike Mueller, which was not disclosed on the scorecard or in a news release about it.

Tonchi Weaver, who lobbies for Citizens for Liberty and serves as its scorecard project director, said Tuesday in a Journal interview that she does not think the marital status of Frye-Mueller and Mueller compromises the integrity of the scorecard.

Read that here.

  1. Can we get real about Rep. Frye-Mueller? Fuunny how her husband’s organization rates her the #1 conservative legislator, even though she was 0/10 in passing bills.

According to the state website she sponsored 10 bills. The only two that passed were hoghoused by other legislators. In essence, not a single bill she introduced was passed – unless you count the two that were hoghoused by other legislators. How can she be #1 when nothing she introduced passed.

  2. Ms. Mueller is widely considered the least effective woman in the legislatures. Only Mr. Nelson is worse.

  3. Didn’t Mueller vote for a new tax on vape pens and sent the tax bill to the floor? How is that conservative?!?!

  4. And let’s not forget that Rep. Frye-Mueller’s husband, Michael Mueller was slaughtered in his attempt to be re-elected as a Director on the West Dakota Water Board. The people finally had their fill when he voted to spend thousands of TAXPAYERS’ dollars to hire an attorney to appeal a judgement against his personal friend who’d been found guilty of a minor criminal offense.

This is the behavior of the President of this scorecard group; they’re just fine with that kind of “conservative” spending of tax dollars? The Citizens for Liberty group DEFINES hypocrisy and public deceit.
