From Facebook, 3rd place gubernatorial wannabe Toby Doeden took a moment from putting single mothers out on the street to attack Governor Larry Rhoden over the Governor’s recent veto of a bill to ban cell-cultured fake meat products.
“While you won’t catch me eating these products, it is against our values to ban products just because we don’t like them. Fortunately, HB 1077 need not be the last word on this issue this Session,” wrote Governor Rhoden before charting the compromise, bringing together ag groups, legislators, and stakeholders on both sides of the bill.

Somehow, I would trust Governor Rhoden (who has cattle, and the hat) on the beef industry more than I would Toby Doeden.
Plus SD Cattleman and SD Farm Bureau are both supporting the veto. Why is Toby opposing the SD Cattleman?

The only thing Doeden knows about beef is the triple cheeseburger and large fries.
The governor vetoed a bill BANNING imitation meat, so-called “fake meat”. This veto of a ban bill is GREAT for Doeden, because he’s the biggest fake meat in this race.
The invention of nylon undermined the silk industry, too. How does Toby feel about that?
This waa soon followed by other synthetic fibers which have replaced wool, linen and cotton. Of course they are not as nice looking or as comfortable as the real thing. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
Toby Doeden with this post secured 4th place in the primary unless he drops out.
What’s next? Tofu, veggie burgers and plant based milk?
Why not ban all processed food while we are at it?
On one hand, Toby comes across as supporting the farmers and ranchers.
And, on the same hand, calls them cowpokes.
