This seems to be much less than it was made out to be earlier. According to the police, via the Aberdeen insider, South Dakota gubernatorial candidate Toby Doeden was put in fear of bodily harm as he was the victim of trash-talking from a geriatric assailant:
Shauna King, 69, of Aberdeen made her initial appearance before Judge Marshall Lovrien on Monday, Sept. 15. She is charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault by putting another person in fear of bodily harm, both misdemeanors. She did not enter pleas.
Both Doeden’s campaign and the Aberdeen Police Department have confirmed the incident.
Doeden posted a video to social media the morning of Sunday, Sept. 14 addressing what happened the previous evening. In it, he said a woman approached him and his family during the game and said, “We got Kirk, you’re next.”

(according to Doeden’s campaign manager)… “The individual proceeded to physically assault Mr. Doeden while making multiple threats on his life and repeatedly referencing his support for the late Charlie Kirk. The individual was immediately detained and subsequently arrested. We are grateful for the swift response of both (Northern State University) … and the Aberdeen Police Department,” he said

During Monday’s hearing, Brown County State’s Attorney Karly Winter recommended a personal recognizance bond as she said King does not pose a flight risk.

The perp’s criminal priors appear to consist of a August citation for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (SDCL 32-35-113) which was dismissed on 9/10.
Much different than what was routed through Laura Loomer whom the Doeden campaign has fed other items...
A secondary report came from controversial Trump ally Laura Loomer, who wrote, “BREAKING: South Dakota GOP Gubernatorial candidate @TobyForSD Toby Doeden was accosted and assaulted tonight at a football game by a man who attacked him over Doeden’s support for Charlie Kirk!”
Yeah. Which is why I was waiting for someone to actually read the police report. It goes to show you that yes, people are awful, and there’s absolutely no justification for anyone saying anything like that. We do need more civility in our society. And this 69 year old woman is likely to suffer consequences as a result of acting on her impulses, and probably needs some counseling for that.
But otherwise, it doesn’t look like the prosecutor feels she is a risk.
According to the story, the 69 year old woman’s arraignment is set for 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Call me old-fashioned, but threatening a man with death in front of his family is bad regardless of age. “We got Charlie and now you’re next” is very blatant.
It is bad, and entirely inappropriate for anyone.

Well in this day and age one needs to take all threats seriously. How do you know this woman doesn’t have a concealed weapon in her purse?

Its always been like that. Carry yourself if you’re concerned. Otherwise you’re making it seem like easier access to guns is making our world less safe.

Not to mention, He and his team are working too hard to tie him to Charlie Kirk, it’s getting inappropriate!
I was thinking he made it up and paid someone to get attention. His Facebook video looks scripted and he’s trying to talk like Trump.
Of course it was scripted. Anything to get his name in the news. I can’t wait for this election cycle to be over, and then only people in Aberdeen will have to constantly hear about Toby. The rest of us will be able to be able to forget about him.
Take your meds. You and yours are the type to think Trump’s assassination attempt was stage too. Fact is there are deranged people out there. Some of them even write into this blog.
While I’m not a Doeden fan and would never vite for him, even if he’s the republican nominee this is not to be taken lightly. Charlie Kirks assassin doesn’t look like he could fight his way out of a wet paper bag. I’d also note that I’m sure Charlie didn’t feel threatened by him when they debated ideals a year ago at one of his events. But just cuz she’s 69 years old doesn’t mean she can’t harm someone. It took a full year for this but job to get at Charlie but he did. What’s to say she wouldn’t do the same. This political warfare has to end. I expect it from liberals but what I find rich is that the Hansen supporters are calling Toby a pansy because he reported a little old lady. If this would’ve happened to Johnny boy they’d have her strung up in the town square!
Isolated incidents do not necessarily reflect society’s dominant feelings. I found some of Kirk’s beliefs to be backwards and sometimes repugnant, but he had the right to express them, and he was very effective doing so. What is growing increasingly worrisome is the finger pointing by partisans. Like children debating. So much bitter and shallow nonsense. And much of it dangerous. We have a problem in our country, and we’d better face that fact. No civilized country on earth experiences more gun violence that we do. Political violence is on the rise. Intolerance is on the rise. Some kooky woman threatens an Aberdeen politician, and it takes on statewide and broad partisan implications. What the hell is happening? We love our country but we need to face reality. Stop deflecting the blame. Look in the mirror, folks. We need to calm down. We need to become more thoughtful and considerate. Civility is disappearing. Lying is becoming normalized.
