Things getting contentious on the far-right, as 4% Doeden supporters demand 2% Hansen drop out of race

I’m continuing to unpack what went on in politics this last week while I was at my biennial work conference for my day job.

The big news of the week was the announcement that Christine Erickson is running to be the next Mayor of Sioux Falls.

But one of the more quiet, yet interesting developments is that supporters of the candidate who last polled at 4% in the gubernatorial race, Toby Doeden, such as State Rep. & awful human being Phil Jensen and Mike “13 just violates the age of consent” Zitterich, are calling for opposing candidate Jon Hansen to drop out of the race, because they believe Hansen will deny Doeden a win.

Of course, this raised the ire of 4% Hansen supporters, such as Neal “I’m only a terrorist attack away from winning congress” Tapio..

Watch for the bombs to continue to be thrown between the camps in the far right, as the battle over whether Jon Hansen should drop out is just starting between the two.

  1. He is right on the last point… who the campaign hires does tell you a lot about the candidate. Toby has hired Drew Dennert, Cole Heisey, an out of state consultant with a criminal history, and a bunch of college freshmen who aren’t from South Dakota. Is that who you want staffing the administration?

  2. Hansen/Lems supporters if you go to Toby Doeden’s campaign FB page you will see the photos of two supporters praying with our We The People candidate for Governor. You cannot deny Toby is the “Chosen One” just like our President! Drop out and join the Team Toby.

    1. The chosen one?! You’re joking, right??
This comment isn’t giving righteous Christian – it’s giving major cult vibes.
Are the Doesen Delusionals dancing on the edge of culthood?

  3. When did Tapio and ShadGPT break up? Seems like they are in opposite camps now. Those 2 were tight during Tapio’s congressional run.

    1. I’m actually surprised Tapio isn’t all in for Doeden.

Doeden does need to distance himself from some fringe elements of gop politics and focus more on the business community.

His endorsement facebook ads would read better if it was a local business owner backing him from communities rather than fringe legislators none of us have heard of.

His message is outsider but then he promotes his political support from the fringes of the party.

Dont be fringe. Be what your good at.

      1. Rumor has it he has gone hunting, asking…begging, for normal, rational people to endorse him (he claims many are coming—many, many, many—so many. When the “time is right”…).
But I haven’t seen one yet.
And every name he drops is crazier and less respected than the last.
He brags about being a “political outsider.” When you’re so far out that you can’t tell who’s sane and who’s not, or who’s effective in the legislature and who’s not, it’s no longer a bragging point, Tobes.

        1. He’s small-scale whatever Trump is. Think about that and let it make you feel either really good or really bad.

          1. No. He attacked traditional Republicans last election for being normal Republicans

      2. He is despised by the local business community and the general population. Besides being deeply underwater in likability they think he is dumb, mean, greedy and a bully.

        1. ======they think he is dumb, mean, greedy and a bully=====

          Are you talking about Tapio?

  4. both of them are tilting at windmills.

I imagine Hansen singing ” The Impossible Dream” here
