This was kind of interesting to see the Jim Eschenbaum’s SDGOP promoting. At least interesting as in who isn’t there:

No Governor Rhoden? No Senator Rounds? No Congressman Dusty Johnson?
Well, that should not come as a surprise to anyone given how they treat them. When the version of the Republican Party ran by a former 32-year Democrat has managed to burn bridges with most of its actual office holders, that’s what happens. An event headlined by the 2% and 4% gubernatorial wannabes that isn’t exactly going to draw out the donors.
And deservedly so.

The pheasants probably aren’t invited either.
Since the SD Trump/Wackadoodle Party is useless let’s try an alternative event and these two candidates for governor can at least make themselves somewhat useful.
How about instead a Doeden/Hansen/Lemmings hunt up in Aberdeen where we hunt them with paintballs. Proceeds would go to local food shelves and/or feeding South Dakota. We give them a head start for their teams to run and hide and how ever many hunters sign up which would be quite a lot send them out to.
The Doeden/Hansen/Lemmings hunt could be held at the Richmond Lake State Park Forest Drive which would be a great setting.
Heck! The other candidates for governor regardless of party could be part of the hunting party.
Lots of money could be raised to help South Dakotans.
The whole point of a political party (any political party) fundraiser is to raise money for the organization. If people want to hold a fundraiser for some other cause, they are free to do that.
A political party has only two jobs: raise money and get its candidates elected. They don’t do anything else.
Since the wackadoodles who took over the party have expressed no interest in getting its candidates elected, there is no reason for the organization to even exist, much less raise money.
Had a good laugh when I saw a pic of Eschenbaum at the state fair building. Bet it’s the first time he’s ever been there. Probably more familiar with the Democrat booth down the road a bit.
How did we get to the point where we have an avowed Obama supporter as chairman of the party?
Beings the fiscal year ends 9/30, one can assume an invite was declined due to being back in DC working on appropriations. At least that’s what I assume.
In today’s modern political operation, the most important skill is mis-assignment of credit/blame.
Remember what I said was happening here .. like a ghost, moving from one party to another, but it’s the same people.
This is an add for a “banquet” fundraiser. Yet, it has a disclaimer that says “hunters have priority access at no extra cost.” Really? This is a fundraiser. Is this group not coordinated enough to handle a crowd for a meal (assuming they could get one), or they don’t want a crowd? Maybe they’re just diluted. Priority access is always a fundraising gimmick. They’re adverting a fundraiser that – on its face – limits access and fundraising. “If you’re not willing to bag a bird, don’t bother sending money and don’t you dare expect a meal!” Stupid.
“The Battle for the Bottom.”
