These county chairs by their actions are making the case that the state party is becoming irrelevant. Donate directly to the candidate. Don’t feed the extremists.
Zero reason to support your local GOP party through Lincoln day dinners or fundraisers. They pick winners and losers within the party instead of focusing on growing the party.
The candidates are much better off working without them.
Our party has really dumbed down in recent times.
You are so right! I think it’s due to the Freedom Caucus. They are not with us as Republicans, and they have ruined the party.
So you are saying you HATE Freedom?
Anyone with a half a brain can see that’s not what they’re saying, but then again you’re probably one of the FreeDUMB caucus.
It’s no wonder the general public doesn’t like the GOP in SD. If Dems were smart, they’d capitalize on it.
Sloppy enough to deserve to lose.
Wait till you see the Rapid City lineup. Stick a fork in this campaign.
When the face of your West River support is 2 Evangelists from California, a draft dodger from Kansas, and 2 CAVEs (Citizens Against Virtually Everything), are you even running a serious campaign?
Mr. Doeden hopped the pooch tonight.
And how is it he can have such a ruddy, sunburned appearance if he is not laying on the shores of Richmond Lake everyday?
This is what happens when the extreme right faction, who call themselves “Republicans” but are actually libertarians or “Anti Republicans,” want to be in the limelight, taking over the leadership positions in the GOP. They want to run the show by calling those good leaders who have experience and actually follow the bylaws (because they actually understand and play by the rules) names like “Rhinos” or “Establishment.” The word establishment is a good thing! They promote “outsider” as being something good or heroic but it is actually “inexperienced” and “naive.” This is a great example of their inexperience or just not caring about following the rules. Rules are for others, not for them. They want control but don’t know what to do with it because they don’t know what they’re doing. They have ruined the reputation of the state GOP as normal people won’t support chaos. They are good at spending the hard-earned money that was in the bank but are not good at raising money. Many county GOPs have been taken over by these “dividers” and they are making a way for the Democrats to take over. Good job Freedom Caucus! Things were so good 10 years ago and now, the GOP is a joke. We should be better than this. Toby Doeden is a good example of someone who has never been involved in politics and doesn’t understand the rules. Can you imagine what would happen if he became governor? God help us!
Seems like Toby is making a “high tax” Larry and “community ORGANIZER” Hansen scared!
These same people in leadership positions are going to be at the convention and if the nominee for Governor isn’t their guy, it’s going to be even worse than Watertown ’22
After that one, comparisons of county primary votes for Haugaard for Governor with delegate convention votes for Haugaard for LG clearly demonstrated that the delegations were not at all representative of their constituencies.
The dissolution of the nominating process for statewide candidates is long overdue.
Good, this is how the founders of our Constitution wanted it, they wanted the At-Large Candidates chosen by convention. I am sorry you RINO-Neocon, Socialist Republicans hate the constitution.
i haven’t paid attention to a county chair since qusai al haj finished his term in pennington county.
