  1. Spot on. It’s time to retire the “D3team” Aberdeen, please do them the kindness before they embarrass themselves any more.

  2. 12/1100 is actually nuts. He passes 1.1% of bills he sponsors? The SD LRC should start fining him for wasting their time.

  3. I remember last year’s session when Carl Perry was the prime sponsor of a bill to eliminate the mandate on fluoridation of municipal water systems in South Dakota. He said that an Aberdeen former city council member and Mayor Travis Schaunaman asked him to carry the bill during a Hub City Radio (Doeden Radio Network) interview.

Carl Perry did not take the time a good, effective and productive legislator would do by researching this before session and dropping the bill into the hopper. He evidently did not consult local dentists, the state dental association, SD Dept of Health and using non grifter/conspiracy focused sources via the internet. Had Carl taken the time to properly vet this he would have needed a spine to tactfully inform this former Aberdeen City Council member and present Mayor of his findings and that he would not carry this anti-fluoridation bill.

What happened? Committee testimony was filled with Dentists who acknowledged this bill if passed into law would substantially increase their demand and incomes plus demand for more dentists but strongly opposed this as it being a really bad idea for dental/public health! They debunked the misinformation/disinformation surrounding the conspiracies to eliminate fluoride from public water systems. The room was filled various dental and public health lobbyists.

38 to 40 day legislative sessions which is like a sprint and this is just one of many examples of how time in the session is wasted. It’s not just dropping the ball but Senator Carl Perry runs out the clock being a member of the D3 Rock Bottom Team.

    1. I’d add as was testified during committee where Senator Carl Perry’s bill was overwhelmingly killed that pain and medical debt is not freedom especially when it is so easily and inexpensive to prevent.

    2. I take great offense of our station being called the Doeden Radio Network.

Over the last month we interviewed Speaker Jon Hansen in studio twice when he’s been in town.

We’ve done three interviews with Congressman Johnson. Our studio has run as many ads for Dusty for Governor as we have Toby for South Dakota.

We’ve also interviewed Governor Rhoden(We hope to do another one tomorrow when he’s in Aberdeen attending Boys State)

During that time, we have done no interview with Toby Doeden. We have an interview setup for Friday at noon.

Just today, we did interviews with Senator Thune and Attorney General Jackley that is right now on our Facebook page.

We also have done interview with Democrats(Julian Beaudion for Senate and Nikki Gronli for House).

      Ju

We have attended with each candidates when they have been in town.

If you asked all the candidates involved, they will tell you that we have been fair with everyone involved.

I’m sure this will likely get a reaction but before you do that, I would ask to reach out to any of the candidates to see if what I said isn’t true.

      1. Scott what about last election cycle?

Were there complaints made to staff/management after any radio interviews you had conducted with candidates for public office?

        If so, why?

        1. To my knowledge, and I’m going back two years now, I don’t recall hearing any, We were able to interview everyone that was running for seats in Districts 1, 3, and 23. Most were in studio here in Aberdeen.

I am not put names on here because I don’t want to speak on their behalf. I know some of them follow this blog and maybe they can speak about it. Most of them were willing to give their personal cell phone number on my cell.after the interviews were done.

  4. The most effective and productive legislators regardless of party but I’ll focus on Republicans for the sake of the primary are very careful what they choose to place their name on to sponsor a bill.

The most productive and effective legislators DO NOT put their name on everyone’s bill trying to be their buddy and especially not reading the bill and having a proper understanding of what this bill would do being intended and especially unintended consequences. D3 Rock Bottom Team member Senator Carl Perry does this all the time. His name is on nearly every bill!

The most effective and productive legislators have a constituent and district focused agenda/game plan prior to session especially with very limited time on the clock. Placing their name randomly, potentially bad and just plain awful bills could not only damage their reputation as being a serious legislator but send the wrong message to constituents, damage a post elected office legacy but also encourage more absolutely terrible time wasting bills that clog up session. Bad bills and the legislators who’s careers end up being consumed with introducing them should be denied sponsors so they never end up clogging up the session or these legislators are removed at the ballot box faster. D3 Rock Bottom Team member Carl Perry needs to go!

  5. Seeking Solution to Problems That Do Not Exist Club. The D3 Rock Bottom Team including Senator Carl Perry are enthusiastic members of this club during our 38 to 40 day South Dakota legislative sessions.

Imagine what would happen to any one of us or those we supervise in the private or government sector jobs if we or those we supervised spent time solving problems that do not exist while on the clock at work? Government sector jobs whether county, state of federal often times have to document and justify time spent on projects for accountability.

Those employees would be probably be counseled, reprimanded and eventually terminated. Why do we tolerate this chronic problem during our 38 to 40 day legislative sessions?

    1. I’d admonish D3 for electing these ninkumpoops, but here in D23 we’ve sent Gosch and now on the verge I’m afraid of sending “drunk driving amber werdel “ to our vacant house seat. We need to do better here in northern South Dakota.

  6. If Katie Washnok doesn’t win this cycle, I think we have to do some serious testing on that supposedly toxic Aberdeen water, because the good people of Aberdeen would have to have toxic brain contamination to send this bafoon back instead of the qualified, capable, and accomplished Ms Washnok.

Don’t let us down, District 3 we’re literally begging you!
