The SDGOP has filed their latest FEC report.
And I’m just shocked. Shocked I tell you! But once again, the SDGOP has somehow managed to once again raise less than $50:
AprilSDGOPFECReport by Pat Powers
SDGOP Chairman (& 32-year former Democrat) Jim Eschenbaum’s GOP managed a $45 donation and $4.01 in interest, against $1997.13 of spending, leaving the leading political party in the state with $29,665.52 cash on hand. That’s dipping below 30K for the first time as long as I can remember.
That’s a declining trend which makes one ask how they intend to run a political party? Or a political party convention for that matter.

I saw the menu options. Pretty sure one lunch option is $26. I can’t wait for the adults to be in charge again while this committee continues to show how out of touch they are with the Republican Party.
But the reports filed with the state are pretty average. It’s just the FEC reports that are terrible. What gives?
Holding donations back until June??
A reminder for any delegates to the convention, if you don’t want to give this terrible leadership a dime, you don’t have to pay a thing to vote on constitutional officers on Saturday of the convention. Show up, vote, leave.
I plan on doing just that. A weekend in the Hills, take a few moments to vote and head home.
Jake, so you think none of the precinct committee men and women precinct should bother to attend the training session on Friday?
You just said it: we know they have no intention of doing the job they are elected to do, conducting the political campaign in their precincts up to Election Day.
It’s pointless and a waste of time to train them. They aren’t going to show up.
The sooner those positions are eliminated, the better.
Move the constitutional officer elections out of the convention and into the primary. After that, I couldn’t care less what happens at convention or if we have precinct committeemen/women.
Anonymous at 8:46, i assume you are a precinct committee person?
don’t go home without yard signs for every candidate on the slate, so that you will be able to distribute them throughout your precinct.
Even if you don’t like the nominees, it’s your job to campaign for them, for four months.
True. I’m not impressed with this new SDGOP either BUT if you’re running to be a precinct person and not willing to campaign, don’t run. It’s not the candidates’ fault and they should have the support the GOP is supposed to provide.
It will be fun to see how Eschenbama and the other exec board members manage to pay for a convention without collecting any money. Serves them right for being a-holes at the 2022 in Watertown. The current SDGOP exec board all complained back then about the party charging $100 for a 3-day convention. As a precinct committeeman, I plan on showing up Saturday morning for a free cup of coffee and cast my vote for candidates that won’t embarrass the party Iike Eschenbama and his motley crew
I forgot about that and you’re correct. I recall the massive complaining before and during also. Full circle.
