The South Dakota Republican Party is announcing tonight that Bart Sample has been selected to replace center Tom Pischke on the fall ballot, after Pischke was arrested & charged with election fraud related offenses:
Sample had placed third in June in the House primary, and now faces Republican Bryan Breitling who is running as an independent in the November election.
Hmmm….why not nominate Bryan Breitling instead? Bottom line, anyone will be infinitely better than Pischke!
Actually, if anyone is a worse choice than Pischke, it’s Bart Sample. Granted, it was hard to pick anyone worse, but they managed to do it.

As a resident in District 25, I find Bryan Breitling far more representative of actual Republican values and policies than Pischke & Sample. He’s clearly the best choice for anyone that actually knows them.
Bryan Breitling’s political history is running and serving as a Republican, and he will caucus with them if he wins in November.
The only reason Bryan Breitling declared as an Independent was to run against Pischke in the general election, as a low turnout primary would favor Pischke running as the incumbent.
