  1. It’s not going to be enough. Limited leadership experience and an entitlement mentality are not beneficial.

  2. How is he on a roll? Very few endorsements and little management of a large office, his 2 person office is way smaller than the AG office (he would be lost at the AG office and overwhelmed).

  3. For a man that’s done over 250 trials I’ll guarantee he won’t be lost. If you have never done a trial, a murder trial which he has done several, it’s all about organization and preparation. To win the trials he has says it all. He can work with state’s attorneys and law enforcement and really do things to benefit our South Dakota.

    1. Never heard of former officers…hardly compares to all the Sheriffs with Ravnsborg…but better than Lance.

Does anyone in law enforcement support Lance?

    2. You are missing the point Anonymous. I am not saying Fitzgerald would be lost around a court room or legal material, he would be lost and overwhelmed with managing a staff size as large as the AG’s office is. He has no experience managing that kind of level in his career and conducting 250 trials does not give him an ounce of management experience with a large staff.

Fitzgerald is better off stating a state’s attorney as that is his comfort zone.

  4. I fail to see how you can make that statement about Fitzgerald’s ability to mange the Attorney General’s office. Lets take look at the backgrounds of the last five or six republican Attorney Generals. janklow ran a small legal aid program on the Rosebud Resvation before he was elected as probably one of the most outstanding AGs. Meierhenry, another successful AG ran a small private practice in Vermillion before his election and successful term. Tellinghusen was Lawrence County’s State’s Attorney, again a small office. His term was also successful. Barnett was Hughes County’s State’s Attorney and in private practice in a small law firm. I’ve not heard any criticism of his 8 years as our Attorney General. Larry Long was Barnett’s chief deputy but came from a sole practice. All were outstanding trial lawyers that knew their way around a court room. Fitzgerald clearly is an accomplished trial lawyer, and he can manage the AG’s office as well as anyone. We need an Attorney General who is a trial lawyer, not a politician.

  5. I agree. Do you want an Attorney General or an Office Manager General? Fitz will lead by setting a good example in the AG’ s office because he knows how to prosecute. Jason hasn’t tried a murder trial. Has he even tried a felony of any kind? When he speaks at a Lincoln Day dinner he literally sounds like he is going to have a nervous breakdown.

  6. Litz, are you joking? Ravnsborg speak very well at the dinners, everyone I have heard from agrees that has attended the various dinners. You may support one of the other candidate but you are just lying to attack him.

I want a candidate that understands how to lead and manage. Fitzgerald has none of that experience as neither does Russell. I haven’t heard anything from them of ideas on how to make the office better as Ravnsborg talks about at the dinners.

It gets old on the these discussions hearing the same old arguments that are fake news at this point and have been debunked.

  7. How can an argument on a message board where people state what they think be fake news? Do you call everything you disagree with fake news?
