Gubernatorial candidate Toby Doeden was at the Right to Life convention this weekend, and when he posted the moment to Facebook, Toby seems to be having a Joe Biden moment on what his slogan exactly is:
“Thank you, South Dakota Right to Life, for allowing me to spread my message of faith, family, and freedom!”
I think that readers are more than familiar that the dime store slogan he just claimed as his own is used by someone not him.
Kind of young for a Biden-moment..
As much as I disagree with Katie Hoffman @ Government Watch SD she has Toby pegged and hope other voters catch on. Toby is out for Toby. This campaign with little chance of fooling SD voters for a victory appears to be another scheme to raise his profile for future economic opportunities. NE South Dakotans including Aberdonians had this guy pegged long ago.
Dusty will easily cruise to victory for the nomination.

Doeden is only in it for himself. Hansen just lies. Both are terrible candidates. I laughed out loud when I read his post taking personal credit for ND AG “backing down from suing SD after Hansen called him out” yesterday. Anyone who is involved in that conversation knows the ND AG had been telling people he wasn’t suing SD for over a week now. It had absolutely nothing to do with Hansen. And Hansen knows it. Yet he wants all the credit. Zero credibility left with that guy.
The Right to Life convention was the first time I’d seen Doeden in person. I had watched some of his TV ads before and wasn’t impressed. I was even less impressed seeing him in person…he reminded me of a used car salesman.

I never thought I’d be saying this, but I think hell froze over because pp and I have found common ground in our lack of enthusiasm for Toby 🤣. I’ll also go so far as to say that I think pp is a better journalist than the washed up fake news anchor because pp actually shares his sources with everything he writes instead of pulling BS out of thin air that swirls around in his head. What a world we’re in these days.🤣

It’s highly unlikely they will win the primary.
1. They have no ground game and very little support outside of Tip Nights at Pizza Ranch.
2. Who chooses a Lt. Gov., from the same side of the state and from a bordering county?
3. Who chooses a Lt. Gov., right out of the gate?
4. He deliberately tried to sink the prison vote to make the current governor look bad. Even some of his followers didn’t fall in line with his vote.
5. His volunteers are rude and unprofessional at events, even downright combative.
6. During his speakership, SD lost ground in GDP and government is less efficient. I shouldn’t have to wait in line at the Treasurers office for 4 hours to register my car and take a day off work to do so, likewise, it shouldn’t take me 2 hours to get my driver’s license renewed.
7. He has no experience that would make him a shoe in for governor.
Thanks for the reply! I think he’s got a ton more experience than Toby. And he helped us beat RL21 which was backed by literally millions of dollars in support and publicity. He might have a lot more grassrots support than we think. Just my opinion 🤷♀️
Katie, 90% of the population has never even heard of Jon Hansen and those who have heard of him were involved with SDRTL and the LDF, and believe the funds were misused, given to people to defeat 100% pro-life candidates in the primary in an effort to pack the legislature with representatives who would vote for him for Speaker, and with Senators who would sign on to anything he told them to. One of those people was Sticky Pischke, who somehow doesn’t get the fact that deadbeat dads are the cause of crisis pregnancies.
People gave money to SDRTL and the LDF to save babies, not to advance Jon Hansen’s career. The LDF is not supposed to be the Jon Hansen re-election campaign fund. The donors were deceived. He cannot be trusted with money.
100 percent his volunteers being so RUDE and unprofessional. Not to mention the peer pressure from them! I was interested in Jon for governor until I realized how horrible they are. No way! Jon is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I am a conservative and at this point, I’ll vote for anyone BUT Jon Hansen.

Curious if devoted Doedite SD House Majority Whip Brandei Schaefbauer believes she only represents the most extreme fringe like minded constituents in D3? Her social media posts are the most cringe, fringe and divisive. Many of which have been debunked. The most effective elected officials some being state legislators would never post such garbage attacking their constituents which are diverse. It is no wonder D3 has been seriously struggling with unmet needs.
