Former State Rep. Fred Deutsch has some shade for California Carley, who ran out & hid on crossover day

From Facebook, former State Representative Fred Deutsch is throwing some shade on California Carley’s actions this week in the state senate:

Serving in public office is an honor. It’s time every legislator start treating it like one.”

We can only hope that California Carley, the coward of Meade County, isn’t able to come back after this latest embarrassing episode.

  1. Maybe change the rule to an automatic YES for legislators “taking a walk”.
Also change the rules for leadership to be an automatic YES for being complicit and sucking at their job.

  2. I am not sure I like data centers, as a state, we don’t need to keep funding the most booming business sectors even more (developers, agriculture, data centers), it just doesn’t make sense. These handouts are just socialism in disguise. However, I don’t like Carley’s tactics either.

      1. Clearly they do not. Because the example of “socialism in disguise” is about as far away from socialism as you could actually get.

  3. You know what would have nipped this issue in the bud? Requiring that legislators resign if they are going to miss most of or the entirety of a session, regardless of reason. Yes, including Senator Beal. Yes, that includes Bathke too. Missing a few days is fine, being out the entire session should result in an immediate appointment of your replacement by the governor

    1. Senator Beal’s absence was a legitimate medical issue. It was his hope to return. Unless you know him personally, don’t comment on someone. Complete disrespect “Anonymous”

    2. Anonymous @ 3:36: I am sorry Senator Beal’s health and my Military Service Obligations resulted in us missing the 2026 session. For the record, that Military Service Obligation is what protects your First Amendment Right to spout disrespectful comments about both of us. As we launch a major attack on Iran today to provide stability in the Middle East, and in turn ensure safety on the Homefront, a simple “Your Welcome” would be sufficient.

    3. Carley and his leadership who do nothing about this are 100% to blame. Regardless of what the vote was for or how anyone feels about the issue, this is a complete disrespect for the legislative process. He should be disciplined by the very leadership that allowed this to happen.

  4. I would like to see any examples of how using a TIF has led to a loss of revenue over the life of a project for the entity issuing one.

  5. Total disrespect for Mr Bathke. He is serving our country. Putting his life on the line for you.
