    1. I’m running for governor to keep building a state that’s strong, free, and Built to be dead last.

South Dakota, The Mississippi of the North.

      1. This particular comment you are telling the truth. South Dakota is indeed the Mississippi of the North. Ironically we had a newspaper intern who had just graduated from the U of Minnesota and was from Mississippi. She was insulted by that commonality and phrase popular with South Dakotans.

        1. What is with all the hate being thrown at SD? Just because people dont want a pipeline company to use eminent domain?

          That’s insane.

    1. Observations:

      1. Rhoden is in a commanding position.
      2. One of the best ads we’ve ever seen. Easily the best of the cycle.
      3. Rhoden ain’t Walter Dale Miller.
      4. Rhoden has people questioning all they thought they knew about how the 2026 governors race will unfold.
      5. Noem’s legscy looms large in the GOP Primary.

      1. Noem’s legacy is that of a boat anchor and is getting worse. Not much for being dynamic at all being more like an old tree stump on the prairie.

      2. Diddo “One of the best ads we’ve ever seen. Easily the best of the cycle.” As good as Dusty is, his message doesn’t work like Larry’s. The shop in the video, that’s his shop. The ranch in the background. That’s his ranch. The cowboy hat, you guessed it. Original Larry Rhoden. Dusty is a great politician. I like him… as a politician. Larry’s a South Dakota rancher who just happens to be our governor. This race is just getting started!

    2. How do you figure last when he was virtually tied with Dusty BEFORE he ever announced? You think Hansen and Doeden will surge somehow? Or is he just not your candidate and you’re just being a negative Nelly? Because your assessment doesn’t jive with the poll numbers.

  1. Dusty supporter here. That is a great ad, but does he have the money to air it? Good slogan as well. Remind me – is Tony now loyal to Rhoden or Dusty? Do we know? Are we sure? Lt Gov’s matter, and I hope Dusty picks someone better.

    1. You’re not going to find a better LG than Tony. The guy is a genius. He is thoughtful and has a heart of gold. SD is blessed to have him. I hope he will continue to serve our state, in whatever role, for many years to come.

      1. 100% agree. I originally thought Rhoden picked him because of the Daugaard ties. However Daugaard was long enough ago I’m not sure it matters. Tony has proven to me everything you described him as. They make a fantastic team!

  2. This ad is good, but this message seems better fit for a retirement video. I remember when Larry Rhoden took us senators out the night before HB 1052 was on the senate floor and begged us to kill it. Then he went and signed it to protect his own back, I will never trust him ever again. He is no leader and certainly has shown he has no North Star.

      1. If I comment, my name will be on it 🙂

Best ad in my 6 years in SD though, and that’s saying something.

  3. Also a Dusty guy, but real good ad. Genuine as well. Totally agree that Tony V does so much good behind the scenes. Selfishly I hope he unhitches from Gov Rhoden and latch’s onto Dusty.

    1. Oh my goodness. That is WAY too close to “Built Ford Tough”! Good catch. What is your name so we can all give you credit for your legal savviness?

  4. Rhoden Rhanger approved. We will laud it at the Conservatives with Common Sense breakfasting this morning.
