I’m not seeing any pictures on-line, but hearing the Minnehaha GOP Lincoln Day Dinner featuring former Congressman Madison Cawthorn was a little rough last night.
Initial reports were that they had a room for 500 people. Except only an estimated 105 people showed up. Whoof. We’ll see when some photos show up for confirmation.
Not a good omen for the Friday SDGOP VIP convention event with the man who went on trial for accusations of drugging and raping a woman.
Who are they trying to appeal to with these guys? Not regular South Dakotans.

I saw north of 2000 people there and heard Donald Trump personally came down and kissed each attendee on the forehead for their devotion. Then some bald eagles screeched and fireworks went off, and a few liberals cried. All true, I was there. You can always trust what you read on the internet.

I was there as well. There was no where near 400 people. It’s hard to estimate how may but it was half the size of the crowd in Brookings. Not a good showing for the largest county in our state.
They should really drop the GOP since that died a while back and replace it with Minnehaha Trump Party. Remove Lincoln since Abraham Lincoln is most likely rolling in his grave right now. Call it the Donald J Trump dinner although the use of his name may incur a fee to use his name.
Promote it as an event that celebrates the dumpster fire and fascism.
When those who are insaner than most throw a conclave, only those insaner than most plus a few hecklers assemble. This morning at the Conservatives with Common Sense breakfasting, the Opening Rant will teach how to effectively heckle at such an event. grudznick expects well over 400 to be in attendence.
It completely baffles me that we have the Majority Leader of the US Senate living right in Sioux Falls and he wasn’t even invited. I’m sure he would have invited some people he knows.
Then again, when maybe a handful of the legislature shows up for SDGOP convention and central committee meetings, it’s not really all that baffling.
And he was back in the state.

I have a dream that immediately after the state SDGOP convention, where the crazies will pass a resolution denouncing the candidates who won the primaries for Governor, Senate and Congress, and will nominate people like Shad for AG, Brandei for treasurer and Mike for secretary of state, that the sanerest Republicans will create a new party in time for the July 1 deadline, hold a convention before August 11, endorse the statewide primary victors, and nominate a selection of normal people for Constitutional offices..
It can be done, it might have to be done.

Considering the love that the dumassocrats have for illegals aliens who are murderers, rapists, child molesters, fraudsters, gang-bangers, sodomizers, etc. And how they fight tooth and nail to keep that type of scum in this country free to roam the streets and repeatedly release them from jail, maybe you should consider shutting that sewer access you call a mouth?

The era in which the Minnehaha County LDD was a black tie event are long past, but for years it was cocktail attire, and no gentleman would dare attend without a jacket and tie. Preferably a suit.
The SDGOP chairman showed up in a short sleeved shirt and jeans. Toby Doeden didn’t wear a tie, but at least he wore a jacket.
And if you wonder why it matters: when you lower the tone of a fundraiser, you lower the proceeds of the event. You will get more money out of 50 people in tuxedoes and evening gowns than out of 500 in tshirts and jeans.
I have seen this happen to multiple charities as well as political events. They lower the tone, they let in the riff-raff, and the big donors stop showing up..
This is a valid point. I don’t believe this is why big donors are not showing up in this case….. more like don’t throw financial support at a lost cause.
