House Passes September 11th Victim Compensation Bill Cosponsored by Rep. Johnson
Washington, D.C. – Today U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) issued a statement following the U.S. House of Representatives passage of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act, a bill which Rep. Johnson cosponsored earlier this year. Rep. Johnson was a member of the whip team that secured votes for passage.
“September 11th altered the fabric of the United States as we know it,” said Johnson. “We lost fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters – all Americans lost something on that tragic day. We can never truly repay the brave men and women who ran towards those falling towers, but we can honor their sacrifice by lessening the burden of the injuries and illnesses that resulted from 9/11. I was proud to cosponsor this bill and look forward to seeing it swiftly signed into law.”
Jon Stewart thanked Rep. Johnson for his support of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund
The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund will be renamed the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Reauthorization of the September 11thVictim Compensation Fund Act. This legislation will be extended through 2090 to cover future illnesses of responders and survivors.

Dusty partnering with libs like Stewart. Is anyone really surprised?
Not I, said the fly.
11 of the 12 No votes were all Republicans. Shameful.
Jon Stewart appears overjoyed to have Dusty take a fanboy selfie with him.
How many other co-sponsors were there?
332 total cosponsors

he was not even an original cosponsor by a long shot. the bill was introduced on Feb. 25th and Rep. Johnson didn’t even agree to cosponsor until April 4th.
His staff literally just responded to an email that gets sent around to every House staffer and asked to be added to the bill. Let us not pretend like he moved mountains to actually get this bill done.
Making good on our commitments to our nation’s first responders isn’t liberal, it’s conservative.
Good for Dusty.
As for Jon’s facial expression, talking about the sacrifice of thousands isn’t exactly cart-wheel worthy.
