Kristi for Governor Launches Two New Ads

PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA – Today, the Kristi for Governor campaign launched a multi-week, six-figure ad buy featuring two new commercials. “C’mon Man” compares Rep. Jamie Smith’s liberal voting record to President Joe Biden. “On All Fronts” features Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden recalling how he and Governor Noem stood up to defend the freedoms of South Dakotans.

“He’s South Dakota’s version of President Joe Biden,” the “C’mon Man” ad states. It notifies viewers of Rep. Smith’s “F” rating from the NRA and his vote to allow boys to play in girls’ sports. The ad directs viewers to JamieandJoe.com, a website that shows how closely Representative Jamie Smith aligns with President Joe Biden and how out of touch he is with South Dakota values.

“Governor Noem and I will never stop defending our state and your Freedoms,” Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden promises in the “On All Fronts ad. “When they tried to shut down small businesses, we stayed open, and our economy thrived. When they tried to put boys in girls’ sports, we passed the strongest law in the nation to stop it. And when they came after our kids with Critical Race Theory, we blocked their propaganda.”

Under Governor Noem’s unwavering conservative leadership, South Dakota is thriving. Because of the Governor’s refusal to accept one-size-fits-all, big government overreach, South Dakota has the number one economy in the nation, leads the nation in personal income growth, ranks number for new housing development, and our schoolchildren lead the nation in educational outcomes.

“South Dakotans deserve strong, principled leadership like Governor Noem and Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden,” said Ian Fury, Communications Director at Kristi for Governor. “Jamie Smith is lying about his record because it doesn’t match the values of South Dakotans. Governor Noem will always shoot straight with voters and be clear about what she believes.”

  1. BS Indicator overloaded immediately while watching Rhoden campaign ad.

As much as I would enjoy seeing Noem/Rhoden defeated I predict they will win 60% to Jamie Smith/whatever ticket getting 40% of the vote in the general. It could be 70% to 30% too. A completely broken SDDP with no infrastructure and many of their targeted voters will be blazed playing video games, can’t get off the couch or out of mom’s basement.

    1. “When they came after our kids…” Larry Rhoden

Oooh. Sounds so scary. Is politics just fantasy and games now?

My guess is that Smith is picking up support among men and they think this will help in that regard. Will it work? Maybe. Maybe not.

  2. Good to give Lt. Gov. Rhoden some air time to acquaint him with voters state-wide. Is it to prepare for voters for the day when Governor Noem resigns to run for VP or to serve in President Trump’s cabinet and Mr. Rhoden takes over?

    1. Good thinking. Rhoden has been in the shadows, by design in my view, for the entire duration of the administration. Why bring him out for re-election? Noem is clearly the shining star and Larry isn’t moving even one vote.

    1. You have to remember that the vast majority of both counties are on the Indian reservations which govern their own areas. There isn’t much that our state can do to help with their situations since we have no ability to change things. Manufacturing businesses are leery of opening shop there because, 1. they can’t own the land they would like to build on, the tribes own it, and 2. it’s hard to get a reliable work force to be punctual if they even do show up for the day (not everyone is like that). Companies cannot have efficient production when the supply of labor is intermittent, as we have witnessed by the shortages in products made during this last two years of covid.

      1. Your points hit the bullseye. This opinion coming from someone who has worked in 4 different native healthcare facilities and on 2 reservations.

  3. Thank goodness Kristi Noem put a stop to all those boys playing girl’s sports. How many were there again??

    1. Thank goodness Kristi Noem put a stop to that Critical Race Theory being taught in our state. How often was that done again??

  4. Marty Jackley is not going to like the Rhoden Rangers getting any attention before he becomes AG, I mean Governor…which one is he really running for
