District 33. Jensen Schools Sly, Johnson and Howard make the cut.
The Senate race in D33 will be one that people analyze for a while. Sly had everything going for her, and managed to be crushed in the contest by Phil Jensen.
It might be a good lesson for candidates. When Stan Adelstein and Jody Severson offer to get involved in your race…. that might not be the kind of help you’re looking for.
In House action, Taffy Howard and David Johnson had a good night, and beat out Mike Buckingham who also put forth a good effort in the campaign.
This might be when voter turnout ruled the day.
Sam Marty over Karen Wagner in 28B
Karen Wagner was’t able to unseat Sam Marty tonight in District 28B, in the latest race in from the SOS office…
Jensen Edges out Shorma in D16 House
This is the first race tonight that’s in possible recount territory, with a 35 vote margin between 2nd & 3rd place. With modern electronic counting, it’s doubtful that a margin like that can be swung, but we’ll see!
Lake & Gosch in D23 House
This has been an incredibly tight race, which you might chalk up to support from the Home in areas. John Lake had a strong showing in Potter and Faulk counties, Gosch in Walworth & McPherson, Werner had Campbell, Edmunds & Faulk, and so on.
All things being equal, with all candidates putting forth a good effort, I think this more with the counties that identified with their most local candidate, and simply some of those counties had far more population than others.
