Jackley Shatters SD Congressional Fundraising Record: Raised more than double his opponents combined
Pierre: Today, Attorney General Marty Jackley filed his first quarterly campaign finance report for Congress reporting $525,760 raised with $503,279 cash on hand, shattering the record- raising 155% more than any other candidate in South Dakota has raised for their first fundraising quarter in a campaign for the House of Representatives.
The other four candidates who have filed with the FEC to run for Congress in South Dakota raised less than $250,000 combined for the fundraising quarter. Over 95% of Jackley’s contributions came from individual South Dakotans.
Jackley continues to build strong momentum and is the clear favorite in the race for Congress. The record-breaking fundraising quarter proves Jackley has overwhelming support from all corners of South Dakota. Recent polling also shows Jackley with a 43 point lead over his opponent in the Republican Primary.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support I have received across South Dakota,” said Jackley. “I am the proven conservative in this race that has and will always place America and South Dakota first. I will work with President Trump to strengthen our economy, secure our borders, rebuild our national defense, reduce the size of government, and cut taxes for hard-working Americans.”
“I will also work with President Trump, Leader Thune, and Senator Rounds to prevent future government shutdowns and get Washington working for the people again,” said Jackley.

And he has the personality of a damp cellulose sponge.
Not true but at least he respects my property rights.
Don’t underestimate Crabtree’s campaign manager TJ Nelson. He is very shrewd. While I would never support Crabtree they are already shaping him an ultra maga image and will be marketing him to the right of Marty. I doubt it will work but they will mold Casey into whatever image they have to to be appealing.
This is how candidates win. Raise more money with more donors. Announce you raised more money with more donors. Do it again. And again. Until you win. I don’t know TJ Nelson. Sure he’s a swell manager, but information like this requires a hard sit down at campaign headquarters. Way to go, Marty!
Marty’s been a statewide candidate for seventeen years! Crabtree has been a statewide candidate for a month. The fact Marty didn’t raise a million out of the gate shows he has a lot less friends than he did 8 or 18 years ago. That plus the fact he’s a west river candidate means this race is shaping up for Crabtree to win.
The thing it tells me is that most of these anonymous posts are from TJ Nelson or Casey Crabtree.
Keep telling yourself that through June 2nd
actually he doesn’t; he’s a fan of civil forfeiture.
I wonder if they realize the contribution limits go up every 2 years? So comparing what Jackley raised in 2025 to what Thune raised in 1996 or Noem raised in 2010 is silly.
Also, it’s worth pointing out that neither Thune or Noem would’ve been expected to win at this point in their first races.
Yeah- it goes up for inflation. Check out some past first quarters – they are easy to search at FEC.gov- and it isn’t even close…
Noem 2010: 109k
Dusty 2016: 105k
Krebs 2017: 140k
Dang.
Marty deserves all the credit for being a great candidate.
Where did the money come from? It’s not from South Dakota.
Read the report. Its all SD.
Where do all the DFP floaters get their talking points? It’s not from SD.
Good fundraising haul, but I’m starting to like Jackley less and less. His ego and demeanor has changed in recent years. In person, on Facebook, and on paper. I wish he would just stick to being him. You need money to run a real campaign but big money doesn’t guarantee the vote.
Big money donors gaurantee Marty will do as he’s told.
The summit lobbyists seem pissed at Jackley. They are lining up for Crabtree.
Marty could have easily kept his mouth shut but he does the right thing.
Um…. Marty’s campaign manager ran the summit carbon lobbying….. and Marty wrote an offer ballot explanation for it trying to help summit – had no mention of local control.
Why isn’t his wife with him in photos anymore?
Because he’s been divorced for years??
Since Mr. Jackley now has more money, what if he shifts back to run for Governor, and yells “gotcha, beeatches?” Just sayin…
That’s the sort of stuff my close personal friend Lar muses about at breakfast when we do the face timing.
“rebuild our national defense, reduce the size of government”
Those two things contradict each other.
That’s a massive haul, by any standard.
The critiques are entertaining but that’s a MASSIVE haul, by any measurement.
With friends like Eschenbaum and the fringe right, who needs enemies?
Don’t forget his friends at the Sierra club:
