According to a report from the Minnehaha County GOP, South Dakota Republican Party Chairman (and former 32-year Democrat) Jim Eschenbaum has been hospitalized as a result of an undisclosed illness (*headline updated to reflect report of heart attack):
If Eschenbaum resigns due to illness.. technically that would make Vice Chair Janet Jensen the chair of the SDGOP.
So absolutely. Please pray for Eschenbaum. And we will continue to monitor reports.
Update:
According to reports from facebook late this afternoon, Eschenbaum suffered a heart attack, and is currently hospitalized awaiting tests.

**EMERGENCY** send prayers, but don’t ask why, because we’re not telling you!
Bow down to our mighty leader.
Pray that Jim gets better.
I just saw Jim last night! Praying for him!
Someone should bring him some ivermectin. Those medical establishment doctors won’t do it!
Not a fan of Mr. Eschenbaum but, your comment is stupid. Tell us you are a moron without telling us you are a moron.
Obviously you didn’t read very much, not very undisclosed, if you read he’s in the heart hospital in Sioux Falls!!
Some of us don’t spend all day on facebook.
Thank you all for the well wishes! I am Jim’s daughter and I am with him at the hospital. He is doing remarkably well and feels like he should go back home and back to work 🙂 he will have to wait and get more tests done in the morning before he is cleared, but as an update, the chairman feels good and has stabilized. Its hard to keep a good man down. Never fear, he will be back at it very soon!
Hello! I am Jim’s daughter and we were able to get him to Aberdeen which is a lot closer to home for us. We were going to go to sioux falls, but there was a cardiologist available closer.
Thank you for helping us keep word updated!
Kindly,
Kristen
Does this mean he resigns with the convention in just over 60 days?
Thats the best joke I’ve heard all day. No, he will not resign. Have you met Jim?
He should. He’s the worst chairman in state party history.
Second this motion.
I hope Jim is well enough to attend the Sioux Empire Better Government Committee summit on Friday the 17th!
