And that just screeched everything to a halt. The SDGOP is pushing precinct level training as organized in part by the goofballs at SD Canvassing?
Since when are they a Republican affiliated group? Because last we know, they spent their time on paranoia about electronics in elections, and finger (aka hand) counting. Which never really seemed to impress anyone.
I won’t go into the conspiracies over the CIA affecting the algorithms.
But, that’s who they’ve got organizing these trainings?
Hard Pass.
Sounds much more like an attempted indoctrination than a training.
It’s always funny to watch this blog lambast local election conspiracy theorists while cheering for POTUS. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how so many of you deal with the cognitive dissonance.
They deal with it by muttering to themselves “well at least it’s not a Democrat in office” as they watch hundreds of thousands of tons of foreign beef float by.
It isn’t cognitive dissonance. The POTUS believes he was robbed of the 2020 election because counterfeit ballots were printed, marked, mailed in or delivered to unsecured drop boxes and counted. There was no security, no chain of custody. Security cameras focused on these unsecured drop boxes showed people dropping dozens of ballots off in drop boxes in the middle of the night. A film was made of this, and a woman who was one of the mules was interviewed, her job was to pick up ballots & drop them off in drop boxes. She didn’t know where they cane from and she didn’t care, she used the money “to pay for my son’s Christmas.” That was all that mattered to her.
For years it has been a running joke about how, when an election is tight, somebody will find a box of ballots in the trunk of their car. Those of us alive during the Presidential Election of 1960 saw how the Cook County miracle unfolded, the dead rose from their graves.
It wasn’t the WAY the votes were counted that is the problem in Trump’s mind.
It is ridiculous the way Trump keeps complaining about it, but the problem with the way ballots are printed and distributed will continue after he’s gone.
Rick Weibel related how he actually bought generic card stock, printed up counterfeit ballots and ran them through a voting tabulating machine in Madison, and the machine counted them, proving anybody can do this. He was very proud that he was able to prove our elections are not secure. Why this group thinks the solution is hand-counting true ballots along with counterfeit ballots is the mystery. If the machines can’t tell the difference between the real and counterfeit ones, how can people?
If metallic or UV-reactive stripes were embedded into true ballots like paper currency, and the machines were able to detect that, it would be harder to pass counterfeit ballots off as genuine.
THAT would actually be a better way to ensure a legitimate vote count. Hand counting won’t solve anything
These people are wasting their time & might even be destroying evidence of voter fraud by handling ballots (fingerprints and DNA)
So this whole thing is stupid.

The new flyer and announcement must have hand counting must be conducted by candlelight or kerosene or whale oil lamps. Absolutely no electricity in the room!
I went, it was fine. Goofiness as expected on the election stuff, actually pretty good training on the grassroots campaigning. Probably 50 people there
Except for Phil Jensen’s wife being the vice chair.
