State Senator Tom Pischke is preparing to become “plea deal Pischke” with regards to the charges brought against him by the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney for falsifying election documents:
The case may not reach such a hearing, tentatively scheduled for August, if a plea deal is reached.
“I believe we have a plea deal” for Pischke, said Minnehaha County State’s Attorney Daniel Haggar. He did not elaborate.
After the hearing, Kolbeck confirmed that plea deal discussions are ongoing but said a deal is not yet “imminent.” Pischke declined to comment.

He will no doubt plead no contest to illegal parking, but will always be known as the fellow in the legislatures who was an election fraudster. Shame!
As an elected official, any plea deal should acknowledge he committed a felony and the loss of his voting rights & ineligibility to ever hold office again.
Ironic, since losing the ability to vote or hold public office was a big penalty attached to all the Tea Party’s legislative bills back in the day.
Heck he is a ‘publican. Time for a deferred prosecution with fines, etc After a period of time the felony will go “POOF”.

Governor Toby will pardon him. Plea Deal Pischke will land on his feet.

So many of these election fraud cases are committed by those who who run as or claim to be Republican activists. The irony.
If you are anything other than INNOCENT of said charged, taking a plea deal admits GUILT! RESIGN AND GO AWAY PISCHKE!

He is not going to prison for a first time, non-violent felony. He probably won’t even do jail time. Probation and probably a suspended imposition. And that’s not even special treatment, that’s pretty par for the course for first time, non-violent felons with a good lawyer.
Can a convicted felon run for office in South Dakota such as the legislature for example?
Has he dropped out of his race to be re-elected to the state senate?

Good question Anon at 10:23. I don’t think there is anything that prohibits a convicted felon from running for office in SD but am not sure. As far as I have seen, he has not dropped out.
Difference is he is an elected official that holds the public trust. They need to make an example of him to show the people of South Dakota you don’t get to meddle in our elections no matter who you are. FAFO and Tom needs to take full responsibility for what he HAS done and take responsibility for once in his life. His DNA and finger prints are on the dan envelopes.
You’re exactly right!! Tom is NOT an “Average Joe” offender who committed a “minor felony”, he’s an ELECTED OFFICIALl pleading guilty to violoating ELECTION LAWS.
Those who are entrusted with creating or enforcing our laws MUST be held to a higher standard when they violate the laws. Any plea bargain should ensure that he can never hold a public position like this again.

Does the fact that he mailed the documents make it a federal offense/ mail fraud and subject the a stronger penalty?
Can you imagine watching him rise on the Senate floor to offer a bill? Everyone of his fellow senators would be thinking: “what an a$$hole”.

In addition to being an elected official he is the Republican Party’s Region 1 director, a member of the state executive board, who has recruited people to run for precinct committee positions before. Unlike somebody new to the way people get those positions and how candidates are nominated at conventions, he knows EXACTLY how this all works. He knows EXACTLY how candidate filings are done. He wasn’t just trying to rig the elections of precinct committee people, he was trying to rig the entire convention nominating process AND the candidate replacement process for when the placeholders drop out..
While some people, unaware of what precinct committee men and women do, might wonder “why does he care who the precinct committee people are?” those who know he was trying to rig the convention are justifiably appalled.
County auditors across the state should be double-checking the filings of other precinct committee people. What were the other members of the state executive board doing?

The voters of the District numbered 25 are majority ignorant. This is why Mr. Pischke is in the legislatures in the first place. They will probably reinstate him.

Being a region director doesn’t mean much. Its easy to get that job because nobody else wants it. How do you think Mike Moeller got Region 6. They were going to leave it blank.
Pischke should plead guilty to two counts of forgery. Anything less would be a mockery of justice.
Just curious did Tom vote for the new prison? Maybe he would have had he known he would be in it?!?
I talked to Mitch McConnell today for about 20 min and he said Tom is guilty and should be made an example of. He also said we should hand his seat to Jordan Youngberg once he resigns or is removed.

Jordan would piss that away, just like he did last time. SDAHO and the rural electrics put in Crabtree and Jordan got the shaft thinking he’d take on school and public lands like he was promised. Jordan was a good guy but way too power hungry.
