When Will Democrats Say Enough Is Enough?

Democrats now have the extremely dubious honor of instigating the longest and most severe government shutdown in American history. More than six weeks ago, Democrats chose to shut down the government rather than vote for a clean, nonpartisan funding extension. The American people have suffered the consequences of Democrats’ recklessness, day after day. But as the shutdown dragged on, the Senate Democrat leader was boasting that every day was getting better for Democrats.
Over the last six weeks, the American people have faced growing uncertainty and chaos. Federal workers have gone without their regular paychecks for over a month, and many have turned to food banks to feed their families. Air travel has been a nightmare due to air traffic control staffing shortages. Thousands of flights have been delayed, and millions of Americans have been stranded at airports. Beginning on Day 38 of the shutdown, in order to keep the skies safe, the FAA required a reduction in air traffic across the country. That means more flight disruptions, supply chain issues, and hundreds of thousands more Americans dealing with cancellations every day.
Then there are military families and veterans. November is the month that we honor military families and celebrate Veterans Day. It is shameful that Democrats’ shutdown has forced service members to go to food banks in order to feed their families, that veterans can’t access certain VA programs, and that Veterans Day celebrations are being canceled throughout the country because of Democrats’ shutdown. Not to mention that when they were given the opportunity to pay America’s troops through the shutdown, Democrats shamelessly voted no.
Democrats have shut down the government, they say, over health care. For six weeks, Republicans have been abundantly clear that we are willing to have discussions about health care – just not while the government is being held hostage. But Democrats refused to take yes for an answer. And that’s because at its core, this shutdown isn’t really about helping Americans. What this has really been about is Democrats wanting to show the far left that they’re “fighting” President Trump.
The longest and most severe government shutdown in history is because Democrats would not take yes for an answer. All of this pain and chaos could have been avoided but for Democrats’ need to satisfy far-left activists. The American people deserve better than to be mere leverage and collateral damage in Democrats’ political games.

Obamacare would still be the original obamacare as implemented. Why do the dem not acknowledge this? It’s what they designed. It’s their plan!
Obamacare was a stripped down version of what dems wanted and Republicans turned it into a pay day for insurance companies until they can dump you on Medicare. Republicans have yet to put forward a plan.
The republican plan was just released. The fix to health insurance is to get rid of health insurance and just send people money so they can negotiate on their own and we lose our price controls through collective bargaining. These guys are dopes.
Or get rid of the filibuster. Go full thug. It’s time.

I don’t know why the air traffic controllers aren’t going to work. They will get paid for the hours worked when the shut down ends. They make about $150,000 a year so it is unlikely they are picking up shifts at Burger King to pay their bills. Makes no sense unless they are all histrionic narcissists, in which case I worry about flying at any time. It’s creepy to contemplate the personalities in an air traffic control tower. Can they be replaced by AI?
Because they still have bills to pay numb nuts. They still have groceries, mortgages, medical bills. Depending on where they live, if they have kids 150k isn’t going very far at all.
“Depending on where they live,” shows you don’t know that federal employees get “location pay.” Their pay is adjusted according to the cost of living in the location they work in.
When Covid caused the offices to close and many federal employees telecommuted, some of them moved to lower cost areas but continued to draw their location pay. Sweet.
Still makes no sense to not show up for work, knowing you will be fully compensated when the shut-down ends.
More likely this is just staff turnover, people are leaving, retiring, but the shut down prevents their being replaced. At least we can hope that is what is going on.
Dems voted against their own proposal. To say Rs aren’t negotiating or compromising is disingenuous. From The Hill:
Senate Democrats rejected a proposal Thursday to reopen the government that would have included a stopgap funding bill and three full-year appropriations bills funding military construction, veterans’ affairs, the Department of Agriculture and the legislative branch.
The proposal was crafted by Sens. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Angus King (I-Maine).
There is no government, the government is bankrupt and being replaced. This shutdown was planned, and the miliary is actually occupying the federal buildings. We will end the filibuster on Monday, and we will open the government up as we see fit, but the banks will be soon be closed for a period of 1 week, while we install new software, monetary system, and money. The federal reserve is being gutted right before our eyes. The IRS is being transitioned to the External Revenue Office, and we are rebooting the Confederacy of States 1777. We will establish a provisional government, reconstruct the states, and form a new federal-republic, creating a new permanent government in D.C. For the first time since 1859, we will have original territorial government, republic restored.

Democrats are slime. There’s no other way to put it. Many have openly admitted they are using lives as leverage not caring what kind of position this puts people in, only to gain power.

The worst Democrats I’ve met are better than the best Republicans. Being called “slime” by a real slime has its own auto-negation. Democrats went the required distance to prove how slimy and committed the GOP is to abandoning people and un-aliving the government programs that have helped people in need for decades. NOW PROVEN. This is the new depth the GOP goes to, to abandon the poor on behalf of the ultra rich.
Some needs a reality check.
