Senator Lapka charges filed; DUI, failure to stop after an accident

From the Unified Judicial System, the charges against State Senator Mark Lapka are on-line. And it seems like they could be worse:

At this point, it appears he’s been charged with DUI and failure to stop after an accident.   Well, at least failure to stop on his own. That cottonwood tree seemed to be doing a pretty good job of stopping the combine for him.

  1. Wonder if he will have enough integrity and respect for his position to step aside and not be an embarrassment to South Dakota while he deals with his problems.

    1. Enough integrity, no. Let’s hope he has enough common sense to step aside. It’s what would be best for his family. Unfortunately the McCrazies would tell you that all the things they are fighting for( it’s really just opposition for the sake of opposing something) is for future generations! These people have put these “causes” before their families for years now and have fractured those family generations they supposedly want to protect. The people who know and live here see the damage done to marriages and with extended family. The only people who don’t see it are the activists themselves. Probably because they are too busy sneaking around with other peoples spouses.

            1. If I were barely capable of coherent speech, I’d probably think the same. You talk pretty one day. Keep trying.

  2. Just wondering if everyone who thinks he should resign said the same thing about Gary Cammack back in 2021 when he had his DUI charges that were later downgraded to reckless driving????

    1. Mr. Cammack is a swell fellow. Mr. Lapka is insaner than most. His public shaming is deserved. They will call him the “Cottonwood Reaper” in the legislatures this year.

  3. Lapkas charges will likely get reduced as well. However what happened happened. For the sake of his family I hope he steps away and is able to see what truly matters is a family that needs you, not all this other crap. Pretty hard to pass the farm on to the next generation if you don’t have a family to pass it to.

  4. When did a drunk driving charge become so horrible that he should resign?
    Did someone die?
    Did he molest someone?
How many of of you voted for Hillary, with her and her husband’s past?
How many of you voted for Harris with her sexual depravity past?
How many politicians on both sides of the aisle in DC have drinking problems?
How many of the people that are posting are lonely liberal’s living in a conservative state?
How many liberal’s in South Dakota that are so desperate that they will vote for Bangin bengs?

  5. If being a “real Republican” means establishing a one party rule, installing a dictator, and being morally challenged while claiming highest morals, I’ll just keep being the same regular Republican that ran things before these Freedom Caucus zombies came along. Keep turning them out.

  6. In fairness, DUIs have happened with political figures before. Nobody ever resigned over one. Most people get smart after one and improve their driving conduct (combines are expensive, even just the corn head)

    1. How about when they show up to work with alcohol on their breath? We had a couple of senators who stumbled off an elevator during legislative session. One left and the other is being promoted to office. They both should have resigned. I can’t even bring up the name of one otherwise the blog owner removes it. Apparently, you can’t criticize within the cult.
